Don't be afraid to switch up lures to determine what the fish are biting
Try different reeling methods to figure out what the fish like
Figure out where the fish are hanging out - some like shade and some like sun
Check stocking reports for hot fishing spots
Respect the wildlife - take out what you bring in, don't leave line behind because animals can get caught in it, and and don't use lead lures
