[ The Adventurer, by Paul Zweig ] :
"The oldest, most widespread stories in the world are adventure stories,
about human heroes who venture into the myth-countries at the risk of
their lives, and bring back tales of the world beyond men . . ."

[ blah blah ]

My sister JPR is coming up. This news makes me happy. I'll get to spend the holidays with her before she joins the National Guard. Woohoo!! She's coming just in time to see my new do. I got my hair cut short last night. I was nervous when I left because she styled in a very "whoa! Get down!" kinda way. But now I feel better, thanks to all my lovely friends at work who said they just love it. It kind of looks like this, except I'm not Kim Basinger, nor am I blonde.

Next week, I am leaving to Vermont for the holidays. I'm hoping to see my little brother (to whom I wrote a letter today). I will write everyday while I am there and upload the entries as soon as I am back at work. I'm excited about this because I love to write at home. Jon will let me use his laptop, which has only Lotus, but that's okay. I'll make do. The bummer is that I'll have to go back and change just about all the apostrophes inside the HTML editor.

I'm hoping that next month I can buy my own domain name. Onland.com. I haven't even tested it to see if it's already taken. Nuts!

If any millionaires are reading my journal, you may be wondering if I would like a free computer (laptop) and the answer would be that I normally don't accept gifts from strangers but thank you anyway (I'll love you forever, you fool).

JPR is driving up from Florida. She was supposed to call me when she left but I haven't heard from her just yet. Hmmm…

This entry isn't the best. It isn't accurate or up-to-par or interesting, but I did want to write something so you wouldn't come here and be disappointed that once again, there is no entry. I will write exceptionally well when I don't have to rush in Jon's stinky office. I apologize.

I still plan on uploading those pictures of my little brother when he was four. I have them with me all the time, but need my darned computer. The man came in on Tuesday morning (I called Monday morning) and carted it away. He said I should have it back Monday, but really, what does he know? This stinks. I've been crocheting at work. Today I started a tote bag. I like it. I'm going to have to put a liner in it, which kind of stinks because it's more time consuming than crocheting is, but it will be a great gift, I think.

Jon and I went to see O the other night. I thought it was much like Apt Pupil, nothing stylistically wrong with the film, but not audience-friendly. I was incredibly disappointed. Fortunately for us, Never Been Kissed was on USA Network when we got home, so we watched that and felt much better.

I'm making tofu quesadillas for dinner tonight. I'm excited. Jon is just going to have his with cheese and green and yellow peppers. I will be the only one indulging in the tofu tonight. Yumm!

If I can't update until after Thanksgiving, I hope you all have a wonderful time. I tend to make an ass out of myself at the dinner table and walk away feeling exhausted and humiliated, but it's all in good fun and it's family, so they just accept my weirdness and move on. They're still there at Christmas smiling at me. Heehee…

I'm so happy JPR is coming. I hope she's happy. I hope she doesn't miss Florida so much that she goes back. She's gotta stay here with me for a while and run on the treadmill so she's good and fit for the National Guard and I'm good and fit for my head (don't forget; I wanted to exercise for my depression. However, I should note that that has been the only night I've worked out since. Ha!)

I miss having the time to read all your journals. I want my computer back!!

P.S. I'm also hoping to have pictures of my Christmas gifts available for you to see. They're going to be stunning, dahlins'. Absolutely fabulous!

beam me up, scotty
