This online journal is my journal, defined as:
"a record of experiences, ideas, or reflections kept regularly for private use" (courtesy of Merriam-Webster Dictionary).
I chose to place a portion of those reflections online. They are meant solely for an anonymous reader, though this journal is not an anonymous journal. Therefore, the following things must be made clear to readers who know me. (This disclaimer says exactly what I want to say, aside from her own personal experiences which she expresses in her journal. Though our experiences are not the same, my experiences shall still remain mine and I therefore feel the same way as she does when it comes to sharing them with others. Please read it--her journal is good too.)
1. If you read this journal, and are known to me, then you take the position of a snoop. That means: do not tell me you are reading it. Snoop is defined as: "to look or pry especially in a sneaking or meddlesome manner." Which leads me to number 2.
2. If you know me, then assume that by reading my journal you will somehow be offended. If you cannot take the offense and simply swallow it, do not read this journal--be a good snoop and don't give away your position. If you do take offense, I do not want to discuss it with you. You have been warned not to read it. Period.
I do not write in my journal to pick fights. I write to share my life experience with anonoymous readers/voyeurs. The only time you can take offense is if I name you (first and last name. There are plenty of people named Jon in the world. My boyfriend won't strangle me cause I mention him).
3. If I have not spoken with you directly (or even indirectly) about what you find in my journal, I do not want to be prompted by you to discuss it (that includes this disclaimer!). Unless you are one of these few people: anonymous reader, Jon, Joey, Ellen or Alice.
4. Respect these rules and this disclaimer. If you think you will have a problem with any of them, or will be tempted to break them, DO NOT READ THE JOURNAL!!!
Anonymous readers, you are allowed to break most of these rules because you don't know me and I won't have to justify myself, defend myself or otherwise bend myself to make you feel better. So read away! You are my intended audience.
