"He felt ashamed in some way. An animal-like woman . . .
thinking only in terms of today . . . no yesterday,
no tomorrow . . . with a dot for a heart."

Kobo's novel reads like a surreal short story; the kind I like. A place unimaginable but existing in a mind (like in Kafka's The Castle) with people who frustrate and fascinate. A fast read.
I was excited to learn that The Shipping News by E. Annie Proulx is being made into a film [ starring ] Kevin Spacey as Quoyle.
I must read more about the sea and seafaring people. I too will be an adventurer.
Having secrets is fun, so here's one I have: I'm getting my hair cut shorter today. Shh, don't tell anyone. Unless it's my [ sister ], cause she knows all my secrets.
beam me up, scotty
