Eileen Cahill, aka "Ricochet"

Name of Writer: Lissa

Tattoos/Piercings/Scars/Birthmarks: Ricochet has
several tattoos, ranging from crossed pistols at the
small of her back to a celtic cross on her upper left
back. She has multiple facial piercings, including her
lip, her tongue, and her eyebrow; both ears have been
pierced multiple times.
Sexual Preference: Hetero
Fantasy: If it has a trigger, she wants it. If it can
put big holes through things that scream and bleed,
she wants it.
Strengths: True ambidexterity, proficient with martial
arts and firearms and combining the two, limber and
acrobatic, intelligent
Weaknesses: A mean temper, a tendency to shoot first
and ask questions never, addicted to various
performance enhancing drugs which ramp up her
aggression levels, liberal use of illegal wetware and
smartchips, a masochistic streak, doesn't seem to know
how to back down or when to be afraid
Odd Quirks (if applicable): OCD about her guns, often
taking them apart, cleaning them, and putting them
back together several times in a night, especially if
she's bored. She's a chainsmoker.
Personality: Ricochet is outgoing and brash. She loves
to be the center of attention. Capable of staying calm
and collected in a firefight, she also has a violent
temper when provoked, and since guns are her first
resort rather than her last, some of these
confrontations have ended in a rather dramatic and
incendiary manner. She is never afraid to take things
to the next level and has never started a fight she
didn't intend to win.
Hobbies: Collecting guns, honing her martial arts,
target practice
Skills: Firearms, Gun-Kata (a blend of martial arts
and gunplay that is sometimes called "gun-fu"),
Brawling, Kick-Boxing
Cybernetics:
Implanted wetware that streamlines her
muscle control and allows her true ambidexterity.
Smartlinks to her guns that enhance aim and weapon
control. Audiovisual upgrades that allow for optimal
performance in a wide range of conditions. Reflex
boosters.
Magic (if applicable): n/a
Weapons (if applicable): To make a very long story
somewhat shorter: A wide array of firearms and
explosives that would make John Woo proud.
Occupation: Solo / Street Samurai
Background History:
Eileen Cahill grew up in a rough Irish neighborhood,
the daughter of an abusive father and an alcoholic
mother. Largely left to her own devices, by the time
she turned fifteen, she had fallen in with a gang of
booster thugs, and enjoyed several minor brushes with
the law for offenses ranging from petty theft to
assault and battery. She was seventeen the first time
someone handed her a gun, and the steel was more
potent and addictive than any of the copious drugs
she'd ever tried. Her drive to master the use of
firearms led her to a man called Tandem, who became
her tutor and mentor. Tandem wasn't a nice guy-he ran
with a gang headquartered at Chrome Kelly's, which
boasts an underground boxing ring and a couple of
American IRA offshoots. But Tandem was a classic
street samurai, a former soldier proficient in seven
schools of martial arts, and to Eileen, he was a god
of guns. The deal was relatively simple as far as it
went-she gave him sex when he wanted it and became an
enforcer in his organization, in exchange for a
world-class education in the finer points of gun-fu.
Eileen turned out to be a late-blooming prodigy with
gun-kata. Her natural dexterity combined with the
enhancements Tandem paid for created a woman as deadly
from a distance as up close and personal. His teaching
methods were unorthodox-he actually shot Eileen
several times for perceived faults in her
technique-but they were effective. She kicked her
crystal meth habit and devoted herself to the
perfection of her art. Eventually, Tandem paid for a
wetware dexterity booster that helped her achieve true
ambidexterity. He gave her audiovisual upgrades to
make her deadly in any kind of light and noise, and
smartlinks in her hands through which she can jack
into her advanced weapons, and reflex boosters to make
her faster. Finally, he started giving her
performance-enhancing drugs that increase adrenaline,
aggression and awareness, especially when combined
with her reflex boosters.
She graduated from basic pistols to her current weapon
of choice-twin fifty caliber Bushidos. The Bushido is
a Japanese-made testament to the synthesis of craft
and art, designed for balance and as useful in
hand-to-hand combat as in a ranged firefight. And soon
after Tandem gave her the first set of Bushidos on her
twenty-first birthday, she earned the nickname
Ricochet when she was jumped by Tandem's rivals in an
alley outside Chrome Kelly's. Faced by six armed men,
she was the only one who walked out of the alley
alive, and her only wound was caused by one of her own
bullets, which had ricocheted from the brick wall to
lodge in her shoulder.
Shortly after she acquired her nickname, Tandem was
assassinated by a rival gang. Ricochet had a Celtic
cross tattooed just under the scar on her back, and
under the tattoo are the words Tandem / Ricochet.
Since his death, she's bounced around within his
organization, acquiring a bit of rank but not really
acting on it, and by now, she is basically a
freelancer who works for herself, takes jobs when she
wants them, and generally keeps things quiet in her
general vicinity. She has a reputation in the
underground for being a loose cannon, the sort of
street samurai you only hire if you have a job too
dangerous, too sensitive, or too outright suicidal for
your average freelancer. She enjoys that notoriety and
uses it to her advantage, and is practically a
permanent fixture at Chrome Kelly's, where she has her
own table and is often seen drinking and smoking in
the company of the brothers Johnny and Mickey
Murdoch-Johnny is a budding illegal boxing organizer
and Mickey is a bare-knuckle boxer, which might be one
indication of the sort of people who usually seek her
out.
