Race: Human

Height: 5'4

Weight: 135

Voice: alto

Hair Color: Dark auburn

Build: Fairly average; not skinny, not fat, a little on the curvy side.

Tattoos/Piercings/Scars/Birthmarks: Earrings, but that's it.

Sexual Preference: Hetero

Fantasy: To write for the National Review, a famous Washington-based political magazine.

Strengths: Smart, works well under pressure, an excellent writer, a good editor, can talk to anybody, laid back and easy to get along with

Weaknesses: A chronic workaholic, tends to let stress get to her too much, smokes too much, has neglected a personal life in favor of her career

Odd Quirks (if applicable): none that spring immediately to mind

Personality: Caitlin has two personalities: work and home. When she's at work, she's outgoing, talkative, opinionated, driven and very dedicated. When she's at home, which is rare considering the insane hours she puts in at the newspaper, she is more detached, withdrawn, and probably clinically depressed.

Hobbies: Writing, reading, working

Skills: None that are really practical outside of a newspaper setting. Caitlin McKay is ordinary and average in every way except with words.

Weapons (if applicable): Caitlin owns a nine millimeter because she considers it her duty as an American (not to mention smart for home defense) but she keeps it in the top drawer of her bedroom and has never fired it.

Occupation: Opinion columnist and editorial-page editor for the Chicago Tribune.

Background History:

Caitlin was born and raised in Chicago. A fifth-generation Irish-American, she comes from a long line of cops, firefighters, and ordinary citizens. Her mother is a long-time homemaker who still lives in the city. Her father was a Chicago police officer, but was killed in the line of duty when Caitlin was 15. Her mother has never remarried.

Caitlin is the youngest of five children, and has four older brothers. Two still live in Chicago and followed their father's footsteps on the force, one is a career military man, and the other lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. Caitlin started out as a cub crime reporter fresh out of journalism school when she was 21. She quickly distinguished herself through the quality of her writing and reporting, and moved up through the ranks at a steady pace.

She enjoys reporting more than writing editorials, and it never ceases to amaze her that people actually want to read her opinion; at the same time, she felt that she couldn't turn down the promotion to opinion editor, and took the job when it was offered. She has a good relationship with a lot of the cops in her area, knowing a lot of them personally through her late father and her brothers, as well as professionally through her former job as crime writer.

Caitlin has lately come to realize that she's a bit restless and out of sorts, like it's time to settle down. She never meant to sacrifice a family or a fulfilling personal life for a career, but now that she has, it's hard to break the cycle, and she doesn't really know where to start.
