Where the "strange" exists, but those of that nature keep it secret...lest they cause a panic amongst the "normals"
No demons are allowed in this realm. A healthy balance of "normals" and "strange.", as in RL.
Witches, warlokcs, vampires, lycanthropes, etc are acceptable. NO elves, faeries, drow -those go to MM.
But keep in mind your characters MUST be careful that the "norms" see & hear nothing out of the ordinary.
Plus each writer must have a "norm" and a "strange" character so we have a healthy balance of both.
This is not a spin off of Buffy or Charmed, so try to refrain from making it so.
What would be in Chicago? Well...exactly what they have now.
Highlights would include: Navy Pier, Lakeshore Drive, Sears Tower, THE fountain (Buckingham Fountain), Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Bachelor's Grove, Resurrection Cemetary, St, James-Sag Bridge, The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Science & Technology. Wrigley Field, Chicago Aquarium.
Some of THE best restaurants to be found, are in Chicago. Small shops, big store, ethnic cultures from around the world. Chicago is your oyster.
