Personality: Flora is cheerful and upbeat most of the time. It takes a lot to

shake her optimism. She is a bit of a dreamer, though her life so far hasn't

given her much opportunity to follow those dreams

Skills: she learned all of the necessary skills to be a good wife-cooking,

cleaning, etc. She has also learned how to wait tables and get good tips while

retaining her virtue.

Background History:

Flora was born the 4th child of 9 to a circuit preacher and his

wife in a small town on the American frontier, c.1850. Her childhood was typical of

the time, with lots of hard work, and periodic misfortunes befalling the family. Once

she was old enough to do so, she had to seek work to help support her family.

Though her father doesn't approve, she is a waitress in a dance hall in town. She

is pretty and outgoing enough to get good tips from the customers. Though a

number of men have tried to get more than a smile from her, she has resisted their

advances (in truth, the men have not been all that appealling anyway so refusing

them has not been much of a hardship for her.) As the story begins, she is on her

 way to visit her aunt who has been ill and needs help. She is in a stagecoach just

beginning her journey when Thomas Strang comes upon the stage(Mikel's character).

UPDATE:   Now working happily in the palace of Katur, and slowly

having a new life with great potential.
