Weaknesses: Tends to blame herself for her past failed relationships. Shies away from those who have hurt her and is prone to bouts of depression. recharge her magic abilities whenever making love. If she recharges too much her magical energy basically overloads, and the magic goes haywire. Of the 6 elements and 2 powers she shares with Edmund Dantes, she can hold 3 elements and one power, and cannot use the ones that Edmund is holding. Odd Quirks (if applicable): Personality: Usually quite happy and easy to get along with. Since becoming "The Caretaker" of the Underground, and magical guardian of The realm, Cassie's personality has undergone a change to where she seems to be more moody and reflective for longer intervals, before once again being happy and fun loving. In the long run the change isn't going to help with her tendency towards her bouts of depression. Hobbies: In her quiet moments she likes to sketch and write. Skills: Self defense, horse riding, sketching. Any others unknown at this time. Magic (if applicable): Has an innate Telepathy that was bestowed up on her when she became Guardian and Caretaker. This also makes her Sensitive to magical energy in general so that she can sense when things are out of balance in the realm. Shares magic abilities with Edmund Dantes, her lover, in a kind of swapping. At any one time she can carry 3 of 6 elements and 1 of 2 powers, along with her 1 innate ability. When Cassie has certain abilities, Edmund cannot use them. This switch of ablities can only be accomplished by them making love. Exception: Cassie and Edmund must make have intercourse to recharge. Any time they have intercourse they are recharging. It is possible for them to overcharge if they are have sex too often, and the results can be alarming as it causes their powers and elements to go out of control possibly with devastating effects until their power level gets back to an acceptible level. In time they should learn where that limit is and know when they better stop finished or not. The 6 elemental powers are: Earth - ranging from simple things like pelting an enemy with small gravel, to throwing heavy boulders, and earthquakes. An example of a very high level and dangerous earth spell involves rocks coming to life and literally crushing whatever is threatening her/him. (but its an elemental ability neither her or Edmund care to use becuase it is difficult to control the Golems once they are created, and they may turn on their masters once the enemy is defeated.) Fire - ranging from simple things like creating a small flame to light a fire, throwing fireballs at enemies, all the way up to causing a blazing inferno, or raining down sheets of fire. Lightning - ranging from small shocks to lightening bolts directed out the fingers towards enemies, heavily concentrated high voltage bolts. An example of a high level spell would be causing a huge lightening storm to attack a concentrated area... dangerous if the caster is in the area. Air - ranging from light breezes to high winds. Sometimes masses of birds come along with the wind and attack enemies. Sometimes a mass of cutting leaves is carried along. High level spells would include things like Hurricane/Gale force winds, especially when combined with other elements. Tornado would be the ultimate Air attack, but also very dangerous becuase of the unpredictable uncontrollable nature of the tornado itself. Water - ranging from calling a light rain, to a downpour. Also such spells as sending a huge wave into enemies and washing them away, or flooding an area. Exception: waves and floods require a water source such as a river or lake close enough with enough water to draw for the spell. Floods are dangerous high level workings becuase they can sweep away caster and enemy alike. Ice - ranging from simple things like causing a snow storm (to hide ones tracks or blind an enemy) to pelting them with ice balls, or throwing ice spears... Higher level spells would include things like wailing blizzards and calling down and avalanche. Exception: like water spells some ice spells require a source. to bring an avalance for example, one would need to have a mountain and some snow within reasonable calling distance, and the summoner would risk being buried as well. The 2 Powers are: Physical Illusion: An illusion so strong that most minds believe it and are thus effected physically by it. An example of this is Edmund's spider web illusion. 95% of people will believe in this illusion SO strongly that they will be restrained by the illusory webs. This is not the only way this spell can be used, however, there are a multitude of interesting illusions that can happen. The more people and wider the area the illusion is aimed at, the harder the spell is to cast, and the more likely it is to fail to convince, and the harder it is to maintain... the mage will become exhausted very quickly trying to use a physical illusion on a crowd compared to trying to hold one person with fake rope. Levitation: This one is kind of obvious... caster can lift things off the ground etc... ranges from lifing small objects to lifting oneself, to lifting houses and trees.. Obviously houses and trees are high level spells and will exhaust the caster faster than picking up a couple of rocks and throwing them. Weapons (if applicable): Her body, highly proficient in the use of firearms (which are unfortunately not available in this realm), staff, bow, The Caretaker blade-which she's having to learn to use, especially since it SEEMS to direct its own actions! Occupation: The Caretaker of Underground, and the magical guardian of the realm (which means if there is someone in magical danger anywhere in the realm she is alerted and must tend to it personally or send an envoy to deal with it.) Lives in the town of Underhill of Underground, in theCaretaker's unique house. (Edmund gave the name of Underhill to the main town ofUnderground his second day there.) Background History: Cassie grew up in the Kansas City area of the United States. Her childhood and teen years had been, for the most part, a happy time. Every summer, and on weekends throughout the year, would be spent on her favorite Uncle's large horse farm. With her natural affinity for animals she became quite an expert in horsemanship. Never without a small animal riding on her shoulders, or larger ones vying for her attention, Cassie felt halfway normal. But in the back of her mind was a little whispers always telling her she didn't belong in this world...where was the magic? At the age of 11 she became fascinated with a form of self defense known as Shaolin Kempo, her father noticing her interest in it found a school that taught it and enrolled his daughter. She steadily rose through the ranks in the school to where by the time Cassie was age 20 she had become very proficient in the techniques, including the extra use of a staff. What seemed to help in the development of her arm and back muscles were the bow lessons she received from an Aunt, who was a Champion in competitions throughoutthe country. Swimming at the Y in the wintertime also contributed to that as well. Following in the footsteps of her father, Cassie went right into the Police Academy the day after graduating from High School. She thought of becoming an officer like her father, but once she graduated from the Academy Cassie decided to use that training as an armed security guard. Because of her qualifications she was placed in areas of high crime, and for awhile she enjoyed it. But gradually her job became tedious and very unfulfilling. One night, while guarding an apartment complex, Cassie had finally all she could take and made a wishful appeal for a life where her skills would be appreciated. Quite suddenly she found herself in another world, one full of the magic she had always felt was out there... somewhere. Rescuing a vampire from certain death, she wound up in the Underground. Shortly after arriving there a rescue mission had to be run, to free some captured magic workers. The vampire, still too ill to go on the rescue, loaned his bow to Cassie - which showed all in the Underground his great love for the mortal woman. She proved her bravery and willingness to defend in the successful mission. Returning to the Underground her beloved vampire gifted her with the bow, telling her it would always serve her faithfully. It was found Cassie had a natural flair for matchmaking, so the current caretaker of the time sent her on a mission deeper into Underground to find a mate for a centaur. While she was gone on the mission all of the magical beings of Underground found an alternate universe where they would be safe. A mass migration left Cassie as the sole inhabitant of Underground. The spirits of the land, and the special caretaker house, bestowed the job of Caretaker upon her. Fortunately, for Cassie's sanity, a young mortal wizard was sent to Underground. At first, reluctant to accept him as a lover, Cassie gradually realized he & the spirits loved her. With Edmund's love The Caretaker came into her powers, and the memories of her lost love mercifully faded away. It was recently discovered, during her initial browsing through the Caretaker's massive and ancient library, that Cassie's ancestress had originally come from Underground where she too had been a Caretaker. Mysteriously disappearing to another world, pregnant with the woman that started Cassie's bloodline!
