Background History:
Once Cadel was a protector of his people. Duty always came first. But then
one day evil swept across the land and many made deals in the shadows with this
evil. Some for promises of wealth and power others from fear of being destroyed.
Those left could not fight back for the force was too strong. Only one managed
to stand his ground, even if for a bit. Soon even Cadel was overwhelmed. Fearful
to kill him for making him a martyr and having the people rise up once more
Cadel was banished to a far off place called the Jungle Lands.
Alone Cadel lives until he meets a large young sabertooth male cat caught in
a trap. They somehow connected and he named the large cat Salah meaning
Righteousness. They just seem to understand each other. Now constant companions
they make their home in the jungle together. Still Cadel longs for a home to
call his own and a driven need to be useful and a protector once more. He prays
one day he will find his way for himself and Salah.
NOTE: Jaguar's father, (Who is also Adam's and
Cadel's father), had a queen who was pregnant with twins. Now at THAT point in
their history, there was a law on the books that twins were not allowed to
live...one would have to be put to death. It could have been at some point in
history the land couldn't support a lot of people...and twins weren't permitted
because of that.
So the Queen used ancient magics of the DreamWalkers to keep Cadel in her
womb asleep, per say, and fled after giving birth to Jaguar. Cadel was born a
few months later when she felt safe to wherever it was she had fled. Now
Jaguar's father, thinking his wife was possibly dead took a traveling gypsy as
his lover... possibly out of grief and needing comfort outside his harem.
When she became pregnant, the woman fled for some reason..and the King went
looking for her. But instead found his Queen and the baby Cadel. Blah blah blah.
Upon return to Katur the first thing he did was strike down the law of the no
twins allowed. Which probably relieved a lot of anxious mothers.
One thing led to another, ruling the Kingdom etc. and he was unable to
safely go back and retrieve the Queen and twin boy. Later on down the road, when
the boys were in their late teens an invading country tried to seize Katur, and
the King died... Jaguar was old enough to ascend the throne and become ruler.
Adam is listed as being 2000 years old.... Cadel is also the same age plus 9
months, as well as Jaguar (who is now dead...from that poison he got during the
raid) Thereby making Cadel the "eldest" brother. And Adam is his half
brother.
There isn't THAT much of an age difference. This would make them the
children's Uncle's. Katelyn in a sorta round about way would be their sister in
law...BUT royal family tended to stay with the royal line. And, here's the
interesting twist, she's in reality a descendant from the future....so is she
REALLY their sister in law?
