Beginning with a Rally at the State Capitol in Sacremento CA on 4 October a caravan of same-sex couples some who'd participated in the February - August SFCA Wedding parade and their supporters including several straights and religious figures would ride across the country stopping at pre-arranged locations along the way where they'd hold rallies and seminars and deliver California Care Packages which contained educational videos, books and other resources that may would assist local supporters in their fight for marriage equality ... across the nation.  After kicking-off National Coming Out Week with a Same-Sex Forum in Pittsburg on Saturday night in Pittsburg PA they'd caravan to WDC for a Monday, 11 October 2004,  National Rally for Marriage Equality-CA which took place just off Constitution Avenue directly across from the US Capitol in Upper Senate Park which is where these pictures were taken.

While flipping the TV chanels at home on Monday afternoon, 11 October, I'd happen upon the NRME-CA on C-Span as it would be the speech delivered by Robin Tyler of Don't Amend that would catch my attention when she said "I'm 60 some years old and I'm sick and tired of marching ... for equality" and that "The problem is not me.  The problem is their perspective of me!" I jumped up from my sofa, got dressed and hurried over to Upper Senate Park.  When I arrived the last speaker was just then finishing up.  At which I'd take a few pictures of couples.  When the music entertainment began with the "    " performing "The Times Are A Changin'" I'd also capture couples dancin' in the park.
