There has been a cheat code released that allows banned items to be removed from the bank. Here come the PK items again and be careful what you pick up since you could possibly pick up a banned item and be caught for it.

Sega has started "suspending" users with their most recent patch in a new attempt to prevent the massive cheating online. Unfortunately, this move seems ultimately frivilous since anyone that really wants to get back on will by getting a hold of another serial number in any number of ways. (Ok, so I'm a little late on this announcement, been busy.)

PSOv2 confirmed for NA release (no release date yet) and the servers are being upgraded for it. Hopefully, there'll be some new anti cheating methods coming in with this new patch as well. The servers are supposed to be down until sometime around the 27th for the updates.
Character Killing is definitely real. BEWARE HACKED ITEMS!!!111 Especially hacked items relating to your HP. I've gotten a hold of a method that is supposed to reverse the effects of the CK, if you come across being CKed, let me know and I'll try to help out.

PSOv2's JP release date has been pushed back by two weeks to improve anti cheating measures that will be present in it (yay).

I just feel like poing out what kind of asses are running rampant on PSO. Here's the link. Wouldn't it be nice if these kind of people were gotten rid of?

It's true! Using the Player Hitting trick to hit a teammate with Reverser will restore their TP (all of it and very likely their HP as well.)
PSOv.2 has so much information floating around today. One thing is about a new "Dressing Room" feature which will allow you to change your character's costume. And there's something about Grave Markers as well, which marks where a character dies at...but then don't they come back to life? And then there is also the rumored May US release of the game. No official announcement on that yet.
The "Easter" downloadable quest seems like a joke. It doesn't seem to even be remotely related to Easter. All it is one giant ad campaign for a broadband internet service provider. Which I guess I shouldn't be complaining about, it did give me a nice CHAINSAWD on normal and is supposed to give out a FLAME VISIT and STING TIP on the harder difficulty levels.

Well, Easter has definitely arrived. And with that, the servers seem to be running better as well, there was no real wait while trying to join games last night.

Easter has arrived! ... on the Japanese servers anyway. Pioneer 2 is decorated with some rather large Easter eggs and the music is different while playing on the Japanese servers. Sometime shortly, these changes should be made to the US servers as well (we did get the Valentine's decorations afterall and there is a considerable time difference between the US and JP time zones.)
Hacked untekked special weapons. It's possible to hack what an unidentified weapon is and to keep it as untekked. So, just another thing to watch out for (especially in trading.)

A quick run down of all recent news. The PSO servers seem to be getting regular patches to prevent cheating online. One of the more recent patches involves the banning of hacked items; one of which is the Devil/Technique--, a major tool in what was the most well known method to PK. However, this does not ban all created items. There has been no indication that created items which do not exceed normal game limits are detected with this patch. At least the more important (and obvious) hacks have been blocked though. No more level 999 mags, weapons grinded beyond their maximum limit, God/HP++ which gives 9000+ HP, and a few other hacked items. A nice step in the right direction.
The servers have been rather sucky lately. When joining a game, the game sometimes hangs while loading the other characters. I've found that if you just give it a couple of minutes and don't unplug the phone line, it eventually will finish loading; however this is not guaranteed. The last time this happened with the servers Sega was implementing a new patch which was the beginning of banning hacked items. Eventually, the game went back to normal and this problem went away for a while. Perhaps Sega is working on another patch and this problem will cease soon as well.
PSO has reached worldwide sales of about one quarter of a million copies and has had up to 26000 players at a single time. This is supposed to be higher than what any other online RPG has reached.
