Bambang Yudi Cahyono is an English teacher educator at the English Department of the State University of Malang.  He obtained  his magister degree  in English  Language Education  (M.Pd)  from the State University of Malang  (1992),  M.A. from Concordia University, Montreal,  Canada (2000)  and Ph.D from the Department of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, the University of Melbourne (2006). He attended the British Council Summer Course  on  "Writing in the Classroom"  at the University of Surrey,  Guildford,  UK (1995),  was  selected  as a Fulbright  scholarship  receiver to  take part in the  "American  Studies Summer  Institute for  Foreign Language Teachers"  program held  at  the University of Illinois at Chicago,  USA (2001),  and  joined  an online course on "Teaching  Critical  Thinking Skills"  managed by  the University of Oregon,  USA  (2006). He taught  English to immigrants  in  Canada and  taught Indonesian  to undergraduate  students at the University of Melbourne and at Deakin University in  Australia,  and  was  an  external  examinar of  thesis for Ph.D degree at the University of Queensland, Australia. One year after his PhD graduation, he was awarded professorship at the State University of Malang.
