Key Lime Pie

Fairy Boys by Mieko. Rated NC-17. (Sirius/Remus)
Fandom: Harry Potter

Take Sirius. Take Remus. Add copious amounts of Glam Rock. In this HP/Velvet Goldmine crossover, a teenage Sirius and Remus decide that they love each other even more than eyeliner and David Bowie music. The only problems now are getting Remuss mom to accept this and getting James and Lily together.

Where to start? Theres wonderfully realistic dialogue (you will never doubt for a moment that these are real teenagers), realistic parental reactions to the boys new relationship, rampant bisexuality, and sex, glitter, and rock n roll. The story is slightly AU-ish, however, as some of the dates have to tweaked to make the whole Glam Rock thing work.

Of Linen by Ballyharnon. Rated R. (Sirius/Remus, OC/Remus)
Fandom: Harry Potter

Reunited after thirteen years of separation, Sirius and Remus spend an emotional few months confronting both their pasts and their feelings for each other. This alone would provide problems enough for any couple, but throw in PTSD, various self-destructive behaviors, ex-lovers, family issues, a half-forgotten trauma lurking in Sirius's childhood, and the whole "werewolves mate for life" thing, and it can become a struggle simply to hold onto one's sanity, let alone a relationship.

This is one of the most famous Sirius/Remus stories in the fandom, and rightly so. It's well written, deals with serious issues of trust, addiction, and forgiveness (both of others and of one's self) and is long enough to be a novel in it's own right. A warning, though--this fanfic is, while not precisely dark, definitely on the gritty side. Steer clear if depictions of drug use really bother you, or if you object to seeing the puppies portrayed as two people with some very serious problems. And you might want to look up "co-dependant" somewhere before you start reading.

In Disgrace with Fortune by Sarah-Neko. Rated NC-17. (AllenxGaddes/GaddesxAllen.)
Fandom: Escaflowne

After the whole incident with Princess Marlene, young Knight of heaven Allen Schezar is exiled to Castelo Forta ramshackle hellhole in the middle of a swamp, manned largely by former and not-so-former criminals. Determined to whip the place into shape, he turns to his new sergeant, Gaddes, who provides friendship and emotional support. And, eventually, a whole lot more.

Its an entire fic revolving around Gaddes and the Crusaders. That alone would be reason enough to read it, even without the delightful character-driven humour, incredibly hot sex scenes (I am now convinced that grapes are the sexiest food in the world), and beautifully well-crafted backstory Sarah Neko gives Gaddes. Also, though there is extensive mocking of Allens girliness (and magically puffy sleeves), he never quite turns into the stereotypical overly-angsty uke wuss a less able author might have made him. His initial innocence is a bit overdone, though, considering the whole Marlene thing.

Nerve by Viridian5. Rated NC-17. Farfarello x Schuldig
Fandom: Weiss Kreuz

Farfarello cant feel anythingliterallybut he knows someone who can make him feel. Schuldig isnt certain how he feels about this, but telepaths are very easy to influence.

F*cked up people in a f*cked up relationship has never been so good. And Schuldig has rarely been written so well. Prepare for a first person descent into in dark humour and sadistic borderline insanity.

Lost & Found by Arra. Rated R. Sirius/Remus.
Fandom: Harry Potter

Sirius utilizes adolescent courtship ritual #1: Tease and abuse the object of your affections mercilessly, because negative attention is better than none at all. Unfortunately, this sort of backfires. So he decides to try being friends instead.

Think of every good James/Lily love/hate fic you've ever seen. Now substitute the puppies. Arra's version of confused and hyperactive teenage Sirius is irresistible, and her approach to MWPP-era S/R is refreshingly different from the usual "love at first sight." It's pretty much a stalled WIP, since Arra hasn't updated it in a year, but it's a decent length regardless and ends at a pretty good point (ie. no cliffhangers).
