A Welcome From Me!
Side Menu Thingie
Welcome to my website.  I'm a poor college boy with no money so I have a free site.  Get over it.  So, my name is the same as my username on AnimeAngels.net, so if you happen to have that name and use it elsewhere, it's mine, too.
Anywho, more about me.  My main hobbies are watching anime, drawing anime, writing, and playing Dance Dance Revolution.  I think I'll write my testimonial about that and put it up here sometime.  Moving on, the main purpose of my site is to keep people from bashing anime to death.  I mean, I despise Pokemon and Dragonball Z like the rest of you, but that's not all there is to anime!  I showed Princess Mononoke to one of my friends and they said it was an OK movie.  There's hope for y'all yet.  That's all I'm asking for here, just an acceptance that anime isn't stupid and it's just as valid a means of entertainment as anything else out there.  And by no means do I exclusively watch anime, either.  I don't really get out to watch movies much, but I have my fair share of American favorites.  In fact, my top ten list doesn't have a single anime movie on it.  So there.  Anyway, check out the two papers I wrote making my case over there in the side menu thing.
Another goal for my site is to provide meaningful reviews and information for people looking for it.  I give a basic plot summary and content review for several different series and movies.  You can find them in the anime review section in the side menu.
Menu

Favorites Lists - My favorite movies, favorite novels, and various other lists of my favorite things (brown paper packages tied up with strings not included)

My Favorite Anime - Come on, you knew this had to show up somewhere.  Yet again, another top ten... Kind of.

Anime Reviews - Plot, content, and, well, a review.

My Weblog - See what's going on in my liife!

My Friends - At the request of Matt, here it is.

My Gallery - See the drawings I have scanned and put on the computer (most of them colored on the computer as well)

Con Reports - Info about the anime conventions I've attended.

Archive - A history of the growth of this website.

The Essays

The Anime Phenomenon - I wrote this for my composition class.  Check it out.

Anime's relevancy to America - Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch, but hey, it's worth a try, at least.

Links
www.animeacademy.com - Another site with a LARGE number of anime reviews...  The kinda site I wish my site could be.  lol

www.animeangels.net - I knew it!  I'm not the only one!

www.homestarrunner.com - I mean, who hasn't been to this site?  If you haven't, prepared to get hooked.

Yoh-Chu-Sha's MP3 page.  Don't worry.  They want you to download their stuff.  Try Kitsune no Yomeiri.  It's my favorite.

House of Anime - Find those ever-elusive, ever-expensive  anime soundtracks (OSTs) at this website for almost less than half of what you pay for them at conventions!

Anime Depot - If you're looking for a series that's been licensed in America, you can probably buy it here.

Paypal - Use your debit/credit card to buy stuff online.  Most people on EBay prefer/require that their customers use this as well.
Latest News/Updates
All past updates can be found in the Archive section
1/25/2005 - And the first update of the new year!  Ohayocon has come and gone, (I cosplayed Hohenheim of Light from FMA and Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket) and it was a great time, even though it landed me in some pretty bad financial trouble which is going to take me a little while to fully resolve.  I'm on the way up, so don't worry about me too much.
I'm thinking about getting to writing some sort of nonfiction anime book aimed at the Christian audience, as I feel that anime is completely misunderstood and thus looked down upon by other Christians.  When someone sees a shirt that says "I'm going over to the dark side" and thinks of me?  Yeah.  Something's wrong.  Because of this, I'm going to try writing more reviews more often, whenever I get around to it with all the other writing I'll be doing this semester (probably around 6 or 7 short stories, so be ready, Bekah!)  I'm going to try making what I can of Ascension (one of my longer story/anime ideas) and try writing all of them involving those plots, though only a few would work well in a short story format.  (*cough* Rao! *cough*)
In the realm of drawing, I'm spending a lot of time just cranking out crappy full-body pictures, trying to get some sort of feasible style down, making sure my proportions aren't THAT off, and trying to work with different sized eyes and faces and such.
And yes, in my drawing class this semester, I WILL do the figure/life drawing.  I need to do it.  I can't just keep floundering like this.  I need something to base my style off of, and I figure I might as well "learn the rules before (I) break them."
I'm checking out a few new series, need to watch some more fansubs of those shows... yeah.  Me and anime go very well together, I just wish I could figure out some way to make some money or something right now with all the knowledge I have. I figure that book i mentioned earlier is probably my best bet.  Not sure what all would go into it, haven't really planned it out, by I really want to put my expertise to use.

12/31/04 - Last update of the year 2004, probably.  Had this site for what, a little over a year now?  I think... I'll have to go back and check.  So yeah, just had to put a couple more drawings from the past week into the gallery.  Hope y'all (all ONE of you... well... maybe 2) enjoy them.  Happy New Year!!!

11/17/04 - Ohayocon plans taking shape... I'll be cosplaying Edward Elric and Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket).  I'll probably have Tsukasa done for Friday... I hope.  lol
In recent days (well, today), I've started checking out some recent fansubs.  So far I've checked out Gankutsuou (Monte Cristo gone anime), Bleach (Soul Reapers taking care of business), tactics (solving supernatural mysteries one ogre at a time), and Beck (f-bombs in anime... no... really.  Half the thing is in English.)
If I had to rank them, I'd have to go Bleach, Gank, tactics, and then Beck.  Mind you, this is just after the first episode of all of them...  lol.  I'm gonna keep going, though to see if they get better... or worse.
OH!!  Forgot to say that I have cable internet now and I've reformatted my computer so it runs like a dream.

11/7/04 - Top Ten countdown upgraded to the Top 20!!!  Check it out!!!

11/4/04 - SEEDLET!!!!!!!!

10/12/04 - Another update to the gallery!  5 new drawings.  All of them are straight from my sketchbook, so they look a little messy.  This means my gallery's size has... what?  doubled?  huh?

9/17/04 - Updated the Gallery.  I have 1 new drawing in there for y'all to check out.  All 1 of you.  lol  Well, make that 1 new drawing, one before computer editing and one after.  Enjoy!

9/15/04  Alright, everyone, looks like I'm back.  Found out I can update my website at the college I attend now so I don't have to use my stupid computer *Force chokes it from across town*.  Look forward to more reviews and what not in the near future.  It doesn't help, though, that I keep watching more and more anime...  *sigh* So much to do, so little time.

7/8/04  Well, school's out for summer.... actually, it's  been out for awhile.  So, yeah, not much going on.  Not quite sure what all's gonna go into this update.  I guess I'll update my list of the anime I've seen (anything listed in the review section) and maybe write a review or two.  Might as well just check out everything else, make sure it's up to date and what not.

Oh yes, and one more thing.....    in three weeks....  OTAKON!!!!!!!!!!  Working on my costume seems to be going a little better than last time.  I was able to find things alot easier.  As for Tsukasa's staff.... yeah. That's gonna be rough.  I want to be the first Tsukasa (from .hack//SIGN) cosplayer to have a ball that floats in the staff.  None of this wire crap.  Any ideas, send them to [email protected]

Till next time, minnasan

4/7/04  Well, it's technically 4/7.  It's still 4/6 to me though.  Well, the countdown has been updated.  There are a couple new faces and some major upsets have happened since last time.  After administering a battery of tests to any anime I've seen enough to be able to judge, I took the top 10, excluding some honorable mentions, and pitted all of them against each other, one on one, in a test of "which of these two do I think is better?" and the result is the countdown you find over in the side menu thingie.

4/6/06  Wow... A whole month without a single update... Well, at least that means I've actually been busy trying to have a life lately.  That, and I've been able to dl and watch quite a bit more anime.  Here come some reviews... Oh, and notice the link to my weblog over there on the side menu thingie.  Feel free to read it.  Also, I added a couple favorites lists and links to a couple awesome stores.
