| Two hours later, Paige, Piper, Regan, Blake, and two of Blakes best friends Erik and Jayce all went out for pizza and a movie. They had a great time, and it was obvious that Regan and Blake were very into each other. Every so often theyd get into a discussion and look at each other like they were the only two people in the entire world. The other four people at the table had caught it, and were unbelievably happy for their best friends.
It was also amazing how well Erik, Piper, Jayce, and Paige got along. Normally blind dates were natural disasters, but the couples got along terrifically. There was even an exchange of phone numbers once the date was over. Paige and Piper were grateful to their friend for including them and even more so that they met Blake. They needed to meet the man who had turned Regans world upside down. Blake didnt want his and Regans date to end so soon, so he drove her back to the park they had been at the night before. They got out of the car quietly and walked over to where they had been twenty-four hours ago. They sat in the same place and stared at each other before either one of them spoke. I had a great time with you, Regan, he said honestly. As always I had a great time with you, she said, even more amazed at the context of her words. As always? She had only been out with him twice. He noticed the words and smiled. I was wondering if I could see you tomorrow night as well, he asked quietly. She smiled. Of course. I would love to. They became quiet once again and he took her hands. I know weve only known each other for a couple of days, but I feel very close to you already. Does that sound strange to you? She sat and stared at him for a couple of seconds, and then shook her head. No. Thats the amazing thing. I want to know so much about you, I want to be everything to you. I want you to be everything to me. Regan looked away for a second, and realized how much her heart loved hearing those words. She also realized how much it would have hurt if he left her. I cant, she said in a voice so low it was almost inaudible. You what? he asked, leaning over to hear her better. I cant be everything to you and I cant let you be everything to me, she told him, not daring to meet his gaze. His heart sank and he panicked. But why not Regan? She shook her head but he begged her to tell him what she meant by what she said. Finally, with tears in her eyes, she looked into his soulful blues and said quietly, Where would I be if I lost you? He was learning something new about her almost every minute he was with her. Losing him was a great fear of hers. She had only known him for two days, yet they both knew there was something strong and undeniably forceful between them. It was an attraction like neither of them had ever known before. It was exciting and at the same time very scary. Youre not going to lose me, he whispered to her. She shook her head. That was what Chase and Evan had both told her, and look where that had led her. I cant believe you. Blake knew something bad must have happened, and she must have been lied to a great deal. The look in his eyes would tell her he would never leave her, no matter how much she didnt want to believe it. Tell me why, he begged her again. I cant, she sobbed. Please! Just tell me so I will know why you are so afraid of losing me. Im not going anywhere Regan, he said. I dont know if I can believe you. Ive been lied to before and Im not prepared to be lied to again. Regan, look at me, he said, taking her chin and facing it toward his eyes. I met you yesterday. I feel so close to you that it amazes me. Weve known each other for such a little amount of time and yet been through a lot. Every single second Im with you I feel closer and more attracted to you. Every single time we talk to each other, I feel more desire pulling me to you. Theres got to be an explanation for it. It cant just be some teenage hormone thing. Its real. I know it, and you know it, somewhere deep inside of you. Youre just so damned attached to your past that youre afraid to go into the future with someone else. With me. I could give you everything Regan, if youd only give me the chance. She looked into his eyes and sobbed harder. She could read in his eyes that he was telling the truth, but it scared her to think that he was being so kind. Even though his eyes told her that he would never leave her, she was still a little bit weary of what he would do if she became susceptible to his love. Oh Regan, he said as she continued to cry. He pulled her closely to him and squeezed her tight. Dont cry. Please dont cry. She continued to cry and he held her, rubbing her arm. Sh, dont cry, he begged, but she carried on anyway. They sat in there for a while until she stopped crying, but when she was done she made no move to get up. Being in his arms felt so comfortable and so right that she didnt want to lose the moment. Regan, you have nothing to be worried about. I only just entered your life, and I wont leave you anytime soon. Thats what they all say, she told him. How about I wont leave until the day I die, and I wont even leave you after that. Even when you die. She looked up at him, smiled, and wiped her eyes. Thatll do. |
