Leaving there we traveled down I-81 passing through Maryland and stopping for the night in Falling Water, WV. Next day, continuing down I-81 for a short distance and then state highways to Louisa, VA for a couple of nights with a trip to Charlottesville and Michies Tavern for an old time tavern meal.

While in Scranton we visited Steam town, a national historic site. We were joined by an old friend of Johanne's from her high school days. Bob Murphy or Murph as she calls him. They had been corresponding by email and he came up from his home in Maryland to meet us.
We spent a week at Johanne's sister's house near Scranton, PA. Cold; yes we were burning our propane much faster than we liked.Rain; more than we liked also. We stayed in the driveway at Sister Judy's and brother-in-law Don's for a week. We also went to see our nephew Frank and his wife Annie at their restaurant "Dino and Francesco's" and got absolutely stuffed with some great Italian food.
We Left Louisa entering I-64 eastbound and at Richmond, VA picking up I-95 southbound into North Carolina. Our intentions were to visit Colonial Williams= burg, but the weather was not very pleasant and we put that off until a future trip. Then to Wilson, NC for three days and the most significant thing we did was go to a model railroad show. But, we were finally starting to warm up.Now, further south to Myrtle Beach, SC for the end of October. We stayed two nights in the Myrtle Beach State Park. The park was very sparsely populated this time of year making it nice & quiet. The park also had ocean front and a fishing pier. We walked along the beach and up onto the pier to watch the dozens of fishermen and women, some with five or six poles and wheeled coolers for the bait and fish.
We enjoyed being back in shorts and sunny, warm weather. Why doesn't everyone live in the south?
