.Sept 24: Well, the day to leave Connecticut came and off to visit sister Judy & Don near Scranton. I thought it would be for two or three days, but Johanne made it a week to avoid the BIKE WEEK in Myrtle Beach. The week turned out to be 10 days because I had broken a tooth and Jo thought we could get an emergency repair and be on our way. Well, we had an appointment at AspenDental. They were pleasant and efficient but after doing a full exam and X-rays the doctor said it would be no less than three weeks to accomplish the minimum work needed. They charged me $5.00 (with internet coupon) and gave me a copy of the exam and X-rays. GOOD DEAL. This puts off the dental work until we are in our WINTER PLACE, wherever that may be?
.Oct 03: Scranton behind us we traveled as far as the PA- MD border to an RV service center. The dash light "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" had come on some time ago and we needed to have it looked at. Several people had looked for the OBD connector, including me, and none could find it. Keystone RV has a campground and our plan was to spend the night and have it looked at in the morning. Well, we checked in and went to the service desk to confirm our appointment for the morning and they sent two techs over to our campsite to diagnose the problem. The two young fellows looked and looked but also could not find the OBD connector. One of them went back to the shop and got a third, more experienced tech. He knew where Ford usually put the connector, way up under the dash mounted with two screws. Scott (his name) removed the screws and pulled the connector out to where he could connect the reader and did the diagnosis. The code indicated that an oxygen sensor on the exhaust had failed. He said that he would order it now (it was near closing time) and would have it by early the next afternoon. Before 9:00AM Scott knocked on the door. I answered in my bathrobe and was told he had the part and would have it installed in ten or fifteen minutes. I rushed to get dressed. When the part was installed he reread/reset the Fords computer............all done, And our extended warrantee took care of all but the $50 deductible. We were on our way again.
.Oct 05 - 08: Wilson, NC another repeat campground. This one is filled mostly with workmen's trailers with two or three transients each night. This campground has wifi and cable although it has little else to recommend it other than convenient location and a good price.
.Sept 23: To conclude our last day in CT we had a visit from Brother Al, his wife Betty and son Dennis late on Sunday morning. In the afternoon, it was Patti, Craig, Nicole Adrianna and our friend Tina paid us a farewell visit. We had a picnic at the RV and later went to the nearby Dairy Queen for desert. And this is when I took the Four Generation picture (below).

.Oct 04: One night at Small Country RV Park in Louisa, VA, a really poor campground that had raised their published rates by $15 a night, just 3 days ago. Oh well, scratch this one.
.Oct 08 - 10: Myrtle Beach State Park, a favorite, though pricey, campground. A heavily wooded, large campground and sparsly populated at this time of year. There were a few stragglers from the previous weeks motorcycle rally in Myrtle Beach. Walking the beach at the State Park is one of our greatest pleasures.
