Aug 17:    While in Scranton we met with Johanne's friend Bob (Murph) Murphy who drove? up from Maryland.  We went to Nephew Franks Restaurant and had pizza on Friday evening.  Then on Saturday we met him at Nay Aug Park which has undergone many changes since both of them had lived in Scranton.
      First thing was the new
tree house that had been built recently.
.     Just so this day wasn't wasted we went to the edge of town and visited the Antracite Heritage Museum.  More than just coal mining, there are displays including old knitting machines,  horse wagons, replicas of an early 20th century homes, factories and a church.  All representative of the people living and working in northeast Pennsylvania at that time.
Aug 24: Our stay at Judy and Don's came to an end and we headed for Connecticut and our annual visit with the family and friends.
We had reservations at Totoket Valley RV Park, the same as last year, but the monthly rate had increased by $135.00 and we did not find out until we left that the electric (additional) had doubled since last year.  Our second most expensive campsite.
.    After our visit to Nay Aug Park we went to downtown Scranton and paid a visit to the Trolly Museum with memorabilia from the heyday of the electric trolleys..
A large swimming pool and small rides, a train, ferris wheel and merry-go-round are also there.
       The
Everhart Museum is also on the park grounds, although we did not visit it this time we have been there in the past..
There is also a new foot bridge across Roaring Brook which passes through a gorge in the park.  There is also a small zoo with tigers, monkeys, alligators, birds and turtles, etc.
Our first night in CT and we were visited by Daughter Patti, Craig and our great granddaughter
Adrianna.  We gave her this doll that we picked up for her when we were in Branson, MO.
Aug 27: A very exciting day for Johanne and I as we met our Great Grandson Nathan for the first time.  A handsome little guy (like his father) and very active, like a dynamo.  I took so many pictures, but by the time the shutter went off he was gone and I got a blank wall.

Aug 31: Johanne with our good friends Lil and Charles, the first of three visits, this one at our home.  The second visit at their home in Milford, The Lily Pad Bed and Breakfast , where we had a great dinner and won 70 cents playing cards.  What fun!
Sept 2:  Labor Day Party at niece Cindy's house.  A great turnout of family and friends.  Brother Al commanded the grill as usual.  Nephew Roger, uncomfortable from the cast on his leg from a hockey accident recently
A great variety of foods and desserts and drinks to keep us all full.
