.Aug 4: We took a ride to Kutzville center to look over the town and locate the post office so we could pick up our mail  during the coming  week.  As we were driving down the main street in town we saw there was something going on at the town park.  They had the Allentown Band playing in the bandshell. There were also medical information booths and Johanne had her bone density tested and I had a blood pressure reading.  We each visited four boothes and for that we received a foldup beach mat.
We got a bite to eat and listened to the music and had a good time.
.Aug 3: We arrived at Pine Hill RV park in Kutztown, PA. We were greeted by Bob and Linda and were invited to go with them to Bethlehem and the annual Musikfest.
A lot of walking!!  And, a little bit of eating and then a lot more walking.
.Aug 5th - 9th: Bob and Linda entertained us as much as their schedule would permit.  The took us to the Reading, PA area  and to the Lancaster, Strasburg, Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand areas.   The houses and farms we saw were neat and well kept. The many fields of corn and soy beans were abundant.  Most houses had a little vegetable garden and almost all had flower beds, also neat and well kept.
We shopped in little stores that were lit only by skylights and had minimal electricity.  Of course this is still Quaker country as shown by their clothing and the horse & buggies.
.    In Strasburg we visited The Red Caboose Motel that utilizes old Cabooses and other railroad cars as motel rooms.  There is also a train ride nearby and National Toy Train Museum and many other attractions that we did not get to see.
This appears to be a great area for vacationers.
.    We also stopped at .............Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl, PA (Reading area).  Huge buffet  place, great food and a fun time.  After dinner we went across the parking lot to the Farm Market, but after stuffing ourselves it was not possible to look at more foods.  Bob & Linda bought cold cuts but Jo and I just browsed.
Aug 9 - 24: After a great visit with Bob and Linda we said our goodbye's and headed up to the Scranton, PA area and a couple of weeks with Judy and Don (Johanne's sister) and their son Chris.
During that time we also saw their other sons, Dino and Tony, grandsons T.J.  and Adam.  We also got to see nephew Frank and his lovely wife Annie and ate at their restaurant
Dino and Francesco's Pizza and other Italian food in Clark Summit, PA.
During our visit I got to work in the garden, doing some weeding and picking.  Cukes, squash (yellow and zucchini) and tomatos (cherry and standard).  Also planted a row of Mums at a corner of the driveway.
I need the occasional reminder of how much work  is involved in home (and garden) ownership.
Judy and Tony picking tomatos with Johanne watching.
We also had a visit with a fellow RVer that Johanne has been corresponding with on the internet.  Don is originally from the Scranton area (as is Johanne) and he was camping in a park about 15 miles northwest of Scranton. We drove out and had a picnic with Don and June. Don's son and grandaughter were also visiting.  I got to see Don's converted Pepsi truck that he uses to  hauls his RV.
      June made the most
fantastic lemon meringue pie.
