Johanne & Ed's
NOTES FROM THE ROAD
As you can see, I am experimenting with a web      page based newsletter.  If this works out I will,          hopefully, improve as I go.
The Romance of the
Mother Road
Before our departure from Livingston, Texas and the Escapee's Care Center I took the above    picture. It is all the volunteers at the end of our tour of duty. Also our supervisor Claudia  (in black) and Kay Peterson the co-founder of the Escapees RV Club.
Jo and I enjoyed very much the work, the      people and the friendships we made during our     stay at Livingston.

See the below link for a history of this 28   year old club serving the RV community.
History of Escapee's RV Club
Before leaving the Escapee's Care Center, we        participated in the Mother's Day events, including      musicians and readings.
Johanne read two poems (from Chicken Soup for Mother's Soul)  to the audience of care  participants and park residents. One about Grand- mothers...she did good!
Monday, May 15th
After a slow start packing and checking the  RV and saying numerous goodbyes it was        nearly noon, so we stayed for one more lunch  and a lot more goodbyes.
One more check for mail and setting the air pressure on the the air bags...we were off.
We traveled to Corsicana, TX and spent      the night.  About 40 miles south of Dallas.
Tuesday, May 16th
We traveled north through Dallas to the Camping World store/service center in     Denton, TX.  The air bag system we had          installed in Phoenix last November had not        been working right for some time and this was  the first chance to have it checked out under     warrantee.
We were advised to be at the service desk    at opening time the next morning in case there   was a cancellation.
We parked the RV and went out for supper.
and returned to spend the night in the parking    lot.
Wednesday, May 17th
We were fortunate, the service department had a cancellation and we were put in queue.
It was about an hour before I was told to take it to the rear bay #4.  I left it with the mechanic and then we
waited.

I also had the oil, filter and lub taken care of while there.
I little while after noon we were told that our RV was ready. They had replaced both the controller and the air manifold. Anxious to go I had Johanne bring the car around to hook up.
But when I checked out the controller I found that pushing the left + increased the right side and vice-versa.  The mechanic came out, crawled underneath and in three minutes reversed the air lines on the manifold.
All better now!
A late start so we did not go far. We stopped at city operated park in Witchita Falls, TX.
Nice, quiet and inexpensive ($10) for the night. With electric and water.
Half a dozen RV's, no problems
except for Jo on this swinging bridge in the park..
