Feb 25:  We left Lady Lake after three and a half months wintering in Florida.  The first night we stopped at Cousin Joann (Withington) and her husband Sean's in Havana, Florida a rural area near Tallahasee
They have a beatiful property, deep in the woods, with lots of deer, birds, squirrels and other wildlife.  So peaceful and quiet.
They treated us to a nice, home cooked dinner and then watching the deer come close to the house at dusk.  This is a handfull of the dozen or so deer wandering to within 15ft of the house.
After leaving cousin Joanne's, we moved on to Falling Waters State Park (Florida). Nice park, it's claim to fame is Florida's highest waterfall. It has a number of sinkholes, one of which is a result of the same waterfall. Johanne and I walked the trail to see these holes in the ground.  Interesting!
After more than three and a half months in Florida we finally left the state.  We entered Alabama on Feb 28th, going directly to another Escapee's RV Park....named  Rainbow Plantation. We stayed there for almost three weeks enjoying mostly comfortable weather and touring the area.
We made a trip with other park residents to the zoo and later we all met at a local restaurant named DeSoto's at Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Later on we did the tour at
Pensacola Naval Air Museum.  Johanne tolerates my fascination with Airplanes for which I am grateful.  There were so many pictures of planes I could not decide what to include here, so I chose an edited version of a picture in the museum.
While at Rainbow Plantation we joined in at several meals served at the clubhouse.  I even volunteered a couple of times to assist the cooks and cleanup. The park also has a nice library.
Another day we rode west of the park to the towns of  Daphne and
Fairhope along the eastern coastline of Mobile Bay.  The city of Mobile is across the Bay on the western shore.  These towns, especially Fairhope seem like very nice small towns.  Most enjoyable was the Fairhope Pier and the Senior Center which is the most beautiful Senior Center that you can imagine.
(take a look at the pictures at the
website)
March 19th we left Alabama and traveled into Louisiana and stayed at this park that has wild peacocks just walking around.
He had a harem of 10 hens.
