Technology Integration: Our teachers strive to craft lessons that not only use technology as a delivery method but also involve students in hands-on technology projects. Many teachers have taken Georgia InTech classes that certify that they are technology literate and teach them how to use technology to enhance learning in all subjects.
Cross-disciplinary Instruction: Many teachers routinely design lessons that seek to show students that all subject areas are related and that all knowledge must be synthesized by team teaching or by drawing connections between different classes taught at CCHS.
QCC and GHSGT Alignment: Several departments within CCHS have already spent much time in trying to continue to ensure that our curriculum at CCHS corresponds to the Georgia Quality Core Curriculum Standards so that our students will continue to do better each year on the Georgia High School Graduation Test.
Brain Based Learning: Many teachers on the CCHS faculty are exploring the latest research regarding learning methods that are based on how scientists say that our brains work. They are utilizing new memory methods, special lighting, varying of instructional deliveries, and they are even considering scents that have shown to keep us alert.
Authentic Instruction: CCHS teachers use instructional methods that closely mimic real life experiences that our young adults will perform in the future.
Student-Centered Instruction:
Our teachers design lessons that do not focus on the instructor but rather
on the students who are actually doing the learning. Knowledge does
not necessarily flow from the teacher to the students but our lessons are
designed to make the student an active participant in the construction
of knowledge.
