My sister Valerie and her husband Peter have lived at Ayton Cottage nr Aberargie in Perthshire for about 17 years, and it has become a place that once visited, you just keep going back - it's the kind of place you go when you want a retreat!

Peter has lovingly restored the derelict barn to it's former glory, and the cottage has also undergone many alterations and phases of restoration.  

Apart from 4 grown children - Jon, Kate, Alex and Tim they are rescuers of abandoned greyhounds, they currently have the very mournful 'Shelley' and more recently the amazing 'Archie', not a greyhound, but a lurcher, who features on many of the photos below.

Ayton hosted yet another party, this time a pre-wedding supper for some of the Elliotts and we had a surprise visit from the bride and the bridesmaids, much to the delight of the young men.  Vee excelled in cooking some scrumptious food once again.

Paul's nephew David took a shine to the place and booked into the Hayloft in the Barn - now a fabulous room, converted by Alex.  He was soon joined by Paul's brother Andy, who also became smitten.
