This is the planned aquascape design. A flat of corkbark was siliconed to the rear wall of the tank to give the impression of a natural stream bank. A section of virgin cork bark was siliconed to the flat to simulate a small tree stump that has been submerged for some time. The leaves indicate the location of C. walkeri and the bright green represent bunches of C. parva. Given enough grow-out time the C. walkeri will fill out the background as well as grow up to the surface, providing shade for the fish. The C. parva will grow to cover the substrate in the front areas of the aquarium as well as fill in areas around the stands of C. walkeri.
Tank: All-Glass Aquariums 20g (high)
Lighting: AH Supply 55w 6300K Compact Flourescent
Photoperiod: 10 hours
CO2: 5lb. Pressurized Gas system at 1 bubble every 3 seconds. The outlet tube is attached to the venturi hole in the powerhead to atomize and distribute throughout the tank.
Filtration: Marineland Powerhead with Sponge Filter. This is hooked up to a Fluval 303 spray bar to maximize CO2 dissolution and minimize surface agitation while providing optimal water circulation.
Substrate: Seachem Flourite mixed with 10lbs. of dark brown gravel.
Fertilization: TBA. I still need to figure out the best mix. It will probably consist of a combination of the following. Jobe's Lush Plants and Fern sticks, Flourish Trace Element, and a K2SO4 and KNO3 mixture. I'll have an update on this in a few months.
