You’ll be amazed at what you can play!

Piano lessons are offered in my studio for children beginning at age 8.   About a third of my students are adults.  I teach beginners and transfer students, and I help my students progress rather quickly to the classic and jazz areas of their choice.  Many of my students have become proficient enough to enjoy Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms.  Several have accompanied their school and church choirs or instrumentalists, and some have continued with their piano study in college.  All of them learn to “swing” on boogie tunes!

Lessons are $58.00 per month, 11 months of the year, payable at the first lesson of the month.  In summer, I charge only twice for three months of lessons, so that the student is free to travel or attend camp.  Make-up lessons are arranged for anyone who calls ahead of the scheduled lesson.

Group activities such as informal recitals, master classes, and parties are offered monthly at no extra charge.

Accolades from satisfied students and their parents

“I really enjoyed having you as my piano teacher because you let me play pieces I like. I also like your cat and piano.”

“Thank you for all the hours you’ve spent teaching Ruth and David. I appreciate the individual concern you’ve shown for both of them. I’m glad that you helped Ruth to get started playing hymns. Thanks for getting David interested in jazz. I’m sure a lot of teachers would never have discovered that interest in him.”

“I would like to be a piano teacher when I grow up. I had a great time playing the piano at your house. My favorite song is Sailor Jack. When did you start to play the piano?”

“Thanks for being a great teacher. When’s the next recital?”

“On numerous occasions I have heard you use humor, a gentle re-direction of attention and efforts or the child’s apparent strengths to address areas of weakness. I appreciate very much the enthusiastic, encouraging and gentle guidance you consistently provide to Erin, Nicholas and Paul. I am most grateful to you for the respect you accord them and the commitment and energy you so obviously invest in this work.”

“You’re nice!”

“You were my favorite piano teacher.”

“Thanks, Ellen, for your skill in teaching Hillary piano. Your kindness has touched our lives.”

“Miss Ellen Lee is the best piano teacher in the world.”
