Comments on Revelation, Chapter 11:

2 Leaders for the New World

This chapter predicts two people who will make a political career with a program according to the teachings of Jesus and other Bible prophets, it reminds them to be cautious but not fearful. It also threatens serious consequences, if these two people are harmed. We cannot be sure which Great City will turn out to be the place for the predicted events. The prediction that it will be, where also their Lord was crucified points to Jerusalem, but it may have been added to the original text later. The context and the parallel of this chapter to Isaiah 41 suggest that it may be London.

There are no hints about the identity of these two witnesses in the Revelation. However the same theme of two special people can also be found in Old Testament predictions: Zechariah, Chapter 4, verse 14 also gives no further information, but Isaiah, Chapter 41 verse 1 in connection with verse 25 suggest that one of them comes from the north and the other from the east to become important for the (British) Islands. Nostradamus may also have predicted them in II:89; IV:95 and V:78. These people can only be identified, once they actually become politically active. Some Bible commentators believe that they will be reincarnations of Moses and Elijah - sounds good but does not mean a lot.
