Meeting about Replacing the Church held 22 June 1729
Influential citizens held a meeting to consider what to do about the state of the old church attended by John Barrett, Henry Crowther, Daniel Evans, Richard Harding, John Johnson, Thomas Keen, John Phillips, John Purnell, Francis Savage, John Sloper, William Tomkinson, Barnard Wickes, Joseph Wickes, John Wight, Henry Wightwick
The matter went to Parliament who suggested repairs and on 10 Feb 1740 charged Thomas Estcourt, Richard Harding, Joseph Ralph, Charles Savage and William Savage with overseeing the work.
After spending money doing doubtful repairs, the Old Church was demolished and rebuilt to be opened in 1770

James Pickett and Ann, his wife, were questioned by the Overseers of Tetbury who decided to return them to the Overseers of Easton Gray, Wiltshire, reference P328a OV 3/2/1 on 31-Aug 1763. They appear to have given assurance they could live in Tetbury.

James Pickett, a baker, baptised his daughter Elizabeth on 17671101.

Ironic - 50 years after Tetbury tried to lose this family, James leaves a Trust of 200 pounds for the Poor of Tetbury.

The estate has a sworn value of under 12,500 pounds
Leaves all to his daughter Elizabeth and appoints her sole executrix

John Pill Junior's wife was buried at Shipton Moyne and his will provided that he also be buried there - Will proved 2 July 1740. He left his house in Tetbury to his brother Daniel.
