If you want a relaxed holiday in the countryside
near the sea 
Il Gelso might be the place
for you. There are beautiful small bays and sand beaches
only 3 km from our farm.
It is also possible to reach the National Parks of Abruzzo,
in the Apeninnes, by car in around
one hour and a half. From San Vito Citt� there is a special
train service, the
Treno della Valle, which operates all through the
summer time and takes tourists to the mountains. You could reach
the lake of Bomba or have lunch at Villa Santa Maria, where
there is a famous school for chefs.
If you like historical sites, you cannot miss going to the city
of Lanciano, 10 km from San Vito Citt�, where you can
visit the Roman brigde built under the emperor Diocletianus
and the abbey of the Eucharist's Miracle. Or you could reach
the small town of Roccascalegna and enjoy the view of the countryside
from the top of its mediaeval castle.
During spring and summer time we rent independent country houses located inside the farm, with bathroom, shower, hot water, porch or pergola.
The houses are fully equipped, furnished and can accomodate from two to six persons. Guests can practice open air sport activities or can attend Italian lessons with a qualified teacher. IL GELSO is an ideal holiday solution for families who want to enjoy both the countryside and the seaside. The town centre is only 10 minutes walking distance away and 3 minutes by car.
