2. Belief
What is Belief? 1. To regard (something) as true: (i.e. I believe his story). 2. To trust (a person). Accepting what he says as truth: (i.e. I believe you).
"Whoever believes in the Son (of God) has everlasting life." John 3: 36. What is actually meant by believing? A lot of people say that "believing is paramount to not knowing". The common sentence, "I believe it will be fine tomorrow," shows that believing is taken to be merely supposing or the expression of one`s wishes or hopes. Believing has lost much of its meaning in the course of time. For all that, the word has a much deeper meaning. It signifies putting one`s compleate trust in someone or something. If I say, "I believe you," I mean that I have unqualified confidence in your integrity and reliability. So believing, or faith, as it is also termed, turns out to be an attitude that involves our way of thinking. When God commands people to believe in Jesus, then it must be taken for granted that He is absolutely trustworthy. From the Bible everyone can discover the reliability of what God says concerning His Son, mankind, or His plan for this world. And what is more,we can all recognize the truth of the Sonship of Jesus Christ by a personal experience of the truth of His sayings. When God sent His Son into this world,He had a message for us. He expected us to listen and accept what He was saying and act accordingly. True faith changes and renews our live fundamentally, because we have a new Master, who now gives the commands. Believing is not a matter of argument but of experience.
