Nephele

Another in-class doodle. I didn't intend for it to be from Greek mythology, and it wasn't until I was finishing the doodle that I vaguely remembered the story of Ixion making love to a cloud and spawning the race of centaurs. I thought it was convenient (I needed to name it something, afterall). So here's the story of Ixion: Ixion was a very arrogant man who was in love with Hera. Zeus, Hera's husband and king of the gods, was angered by Ixion's arrogance in trying to take Hera. So he made a duplicate of Hera from a cloud, named Nephele, which Ixion took for the real thing. And somehow, cloud+man=centaurs. Ixion realizes he's been tricked and leaves poor Nephele, who drifts around aimlessly, picked up by others, but always deserted in the end.
