Special Project Engineer. July 1986 to February 1988.
Performed a variety of tests, analyses, and studies related to the improvement of production efficiencies of two glass containers plants in Venezuela (South America). Devised and developed computer software as tools for statistical analyses, including analysis of variance. Interrelated with Manufacturing Vice-President and with Design, Plant, Scheduling, Finish Products and Quality Assurance Managers as well as with plant personnel. Conducted oral and written communication in Spanish and English.

Responsible for the plant's national and international purchases. Devised and developed computer based follow up systems for the purchasing function and for the procurement of U.S. Dollars, which was then controlled by the government. Responsible for the storeroom. Manage 8 personnel.

Conducted an analysis on freight costs; devised and developed a software package to calculate freight charges, interrelating with project engineers of the major client of the company (POLAR). Conducted a systems analysis of the purchasing department.
Left Favianca in 1988 to start working as a consultant.

Just getting out of college in Michigan, I worked in Mc Donald's and Zayre's just to obtain extra money to travel back to Venezuela to fulfill a contract obligation with the Venezuelan Government, which granted me a full scholarship to study in the US. in 1979, since by that time there were some aerospace related projects in the mind of some government people. Unfortunately (for Venezuela), those projects were abandoned later.
