Special software project for Owens-Illinois, the leading manufacturer of glass container in the U.S. Devised and developed software and databases to standarize the storeroom I.D. codes of the four Owens Illinois glass plants in Venezuela (South America) into a single database, which was later used for the J. D. Edwards business software package they acquired.

Devised and developed software solutions for different types of business organizations using software engineering methodology (life cicle). Projects include, but are not limited to, an accounting package for a Venezuelan Government Agency (CONARE) (1993); a technical congress package for a Venezuelan University (La Universidad de Los Andes, Nucleo Trujillo) which controls participants, papers, meetings and prepares list of abstracts (1992); an inventory control package for the pilot program phase of the Venezuelan Social Aid Program (PAMI) (1990), which was audited and recommended by The World Bank ; a standard cost and sensitivity analysis package for the Financial Vice-President Office of Owens-Illinois de Venezuela in Caracas (1989): a production scheduling package for the Manufacturing Vice-President Office of Owens-Illinois de Venezuela in Valencia (1988); a statistical analysis package to identify loss production time for the Production Manager of Favianca (an Owens-Illinois plant in Valera, Venezuela); a payroll and invoice package for one of the major freight companies serving Owens-Illinois in Venezuela (Transporte Antica)(1990-1999).
Also, devised and developed turnkey commercial software business solutions, providing license agreenment and service contracts (customer support and software maintenance) to a number of different small-size businesses around Venezuela. Turnkey solutions include, but are not limited to, a complete business control software (inventory, sales, POS, invoicing, purchasing, A/P, A/R, salesman commisions, bank and cash accounts), which has been used in different types of stores (Hardware Stores, Restaurants, Hotels, Spare Parts Stores, among others), and a medical history software package for phisicians.
Training and interrelation with technical and non-technical personnel at al levels. Customer support and service. Local Area Network setup and maintenance (Lantastic). Web page design and implementation.
Right now I am in Miami, FL, U.S.A. doing the following work:
- Devising, developing and publishing web pages for different types of
business and organizations.
- Giving engineering consulting services in Miami, for the design and
development of an electronic fulfillment center for dot com companies
(third party logistics) which includes receiving, putaway, warehousing,
hand picking, packaging and shipping processes. My job includes
establishing the initial investment for the next three years of the start-up
operation, a preliminary design of the e-fulfillment center, number of
people involved, material handling equipment, development of cost
structure for pricing, the design and development of a quote wizard
wizard to be used in the web page of my client, and the design and
development of a Warehouse Management System for an e-fulfillment
center.
