Ephesians Chapter 2

The latter part of chapter 2 talks wonderfully and powerfully of the unity of the body of Christ and the glorious result of this unity for God.  "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;/  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;/  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:/  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit"  (Ep 2:19-22).  We are related for we are of the same blood of Jesus Christ.  As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are no longer strangers, but strive together for the glorification of our Saviour.  Furthermore, we are "fellowcitizens with the saints," the great followers of Christ.  The foundation and the stability of the church have been laid by the first Christians.  The security and the strength of the foundation assured because of the majesty of the cornerstone, the immovable Rock.  With the foundation set, we are called in one body for the service and reverence of the Lord.  With the same Spirit dwelling in us, we can build a reverential temple that can glorify the God that gave us this unity in Christ. There is not only confidence in my Lord, but I can also find comfort with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, being assured of their victory over sin and their guaranteed presence with me in paradise.  Together, easily bonded through Christ, we can together bring the service and glorification that God deserves.
