| February 11, 2002, Sunday Proverbs Chapter 21 There is again another view on pride, "An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin" (Pr 21:4) where "plowing" is referenced as "light." Pride is clearly a sin as stated here. The wages of sin is death (Ro 6:23). There should be no reason for human pride. All that we do, every heart beat, every breath of air, every dollar earned, every A+, every B-, is a blood bought gift from God through Jesus Christ. Therefore, to be prideful of the gifts that God has given is silly and risky when the fact that God can take away as easily as He has given is acknowledged. The only thing we can do when receiving these gifts of life is to adore God for the undeserving grace that He has shown us and to use these gifts to glorify the LORD in all we do being thankful even of our mere existence to be alive during this present day. *end of excerpt* |
