People I Met Before College

Amber is the friend I've known the longest, though I haven't been seeing her enough recently. I have known her since 7th grade... and she's stubborn like nothing else, which can work either for you or against you, depending on whose side you're on. Over the years, we have gotten to know each other well and we stick by each other through thick and thin. I think we've even come to the point where we can just look at each other and usually know what the other's thinking.

I met Meggin a couple of times in junior high through our very wierd friend Lisa, but didn't really get to know her until High School. Then it was one of those, "hey, I know you..." She married Nick, a friend of my brother's, and now mine, (who is in the navy) and they have a son, William Dwayne Nolan. He looks exactly like Nick, only smaller. I havent seen Meggin in entirely too long, and I am really going to have to correct this situation.

Andrea is someone I met in junior high, but I don't really see her much. She always stops by, though, and she's great to just sit and talk to. She's a silly lady. (I see her mostly at meggin's house) I wish I could see her more, but it's hard to keep track of each other.

Jenny is another friend who keeps me in check. I met her in a math class my freshman year of high school. She's the one who got me into a youth group, which in turn got me back to church. Jenny's the one who, if you do something without thinking it through, she'll probably tell you, but she knows how to have a good time (and usually a good time that I can afford!) and she's very easy to talk to.

Ben is someone I met in my high school youth group. He's great to just hang out with-- you can tell him weird things about yourself, and he won't think you're a geek. He's very genuine. He only lets you see what he wants you to see about himself, but what you end up seeing is the truth. He shares a lot of my views on things and he's quite intelligent, so we've had many interesting discussions. Often they've been after the time we've decided to call it a night ... though I suppose that's how it always goes!

I met Karen at a thing called Leadership Lab, which is basically a retreat I went on in high school. I didn't get to know her as well as I could have during Lab, but she's the one that kept in touch with me best, and she's become a valuable friend. She keeps me in check, is sarcastic in the best way, and is unbelievably funny.
