Class got Cs on the midterm. Teacher used someone else's old test. He gave us an extra credit assignment to make up for it. A table! Great for HTML newies and jocks. I know how to find code I don't already know. I GOT ALL 75 POSSIBLE POINTS and an A for the course. We learned how Cascade Style Sheets really work. Good diskspace saver but you can't open or edit css files. Anyone out there in cyberspace know why this is so? Store the HTML version on your site with backup files. Paste changes into a new css page after deleting the old one.

CLASS PROJECT

1) Create a sample online Web course. Include syllabus, links, test materials, calendars, feedback forms. Develop guidelines telling students what they need to know to participate.

2) Evaluate classmates' sample class Web sites. With your own guidelines document your evaluations. Include strengths and weaknesses, ease of use, organization of site material, overall site appeal.

Classmates' Website Evaluations

GENERAL COMMENTS Good navigation and layout. Framed sites should have noframes options. Tiny fonts are hard to read. Use "ALT" statements in images. Large files load slow especially with dialups, popular because they're affordable. Create banners easily at crecon.com, save to disk, upload. Text banners load best. Contact and feedback should use mailtos. Use forms for online purchases, registration and login.

Viet Nam history and geography is interesting. I liked the Vietnamese themes and images. Viet Nam is a beautiful country with lots to offer. Be proud. Make the links page clearer and easier to read. Why not link to site homepages instead of all those inside links? Make the MIDIs list clearer (see above) and list their filesize. Vietnamese MIDIs - how about lyrics and descriptions of traditional and other Vietnamese songs for nonVietnamese audiences? Many thanks for telling us about Viet Nam.

mohammad.abbas.tripod.com/homepage Homepage: Interesting photos but large filesize, need alts.

www.geocities.com/kimluong302001 NEXT arrow at bottom of page: leads to "my family album". Say instead "My Family Album (190K photo of my parents)" or something like that with just a link to the photo. What else is new? Liked the link to Minhquan.

le_trong.tripod.com/About_My_Country History and Travel are links offsite, why not target="new"? Tell what the link is and that it's offsite. Why not a links page instead of separate pages for each one? If other content changes why not put in a directory to them, described on the Index page, so when you change files (add, delete, etc) you only need to change links on 1 page. Many thanks for showing us Viet Nam see above.

URLs link leads to same page inside the frame. Got noframes options? Look at my site source code (ctrl U) for how. Grading - a needed factor. I put my grading on my Courses page. A low-filesized graphic would enhance site recognition. Subject matter generic? Still nice to see your subject!

Need homepage links and a mailto. Introduction content same as Index page content. May skip or use "why take this seminar" content from your Criminal and Mental page. Liked the state.gov link target="new" so visitors can return to your site without getting lost. Liked graphics, appropriate for site and small filesize. Class critique I'll return to later after you work on and post it.

members.tripod.com/home/aquanuts Nice theme but look still under construction.

"CAMELOT - Camelot," I said to myself. "I don't remember hearing of it before. Name of the asylum, likely."

It was a soft, reposeful summer landscape, lovely as a dream, lonesome as Sunday. The air was full of the smell of flowers, buzzing insects and twittering birds. There were no people, no wagons, no stir of life, nothing going on. The road was mainly a winding path with hoofprints and now and then a faint trace of wheels on either side in the grass - wheels with tires as broad as one's hand.
