Col Aenas Mackay of Scots-Dutch Brigade married Baroness Ursulina Phillipina Van Haeften. Their son Barthold Mackay (made a Baron of the Netherlands in 1822) succeeded to Ophemert. Lord Reay converted a room in the stables (now the garage) into a Head Hall for his big game trophies, interior decoration with remarkable good taste.
