First made in labs in 1943, used for mental health research, LSD became recreationally popular in the 1960s. Lab-made LSD is a white powder with no odor, color or taste, made from ergot, a rye and grain fungus. LSD is 100 times stronger than magic mushrooms and 4,000 times stronger than mescaline. LSD effects are unpredictable and permanent. Flashbacks remain long after LSD is discontinued and excreted. One unsuspecting partygoer drinking LSD-spiked punch is now a vegetable. Illicit LSD, produced in situations of little or no control or accuracy, can't determine chemical makeup. Users don't care about safety or predictability as long as they get a trip. 100 mcg is a trip. 500 mcg is a super trip. Those not constitutionally fortified for rapid mind-function shifts go insane. Those fortified return to LSD. LSD and mescaline come on in 30 - 90 minutes, peak at 3 - 5 hours and last 9 - 15 hours.
