...More Annie's Birth.
page 3 0f 3
After this moment of intense emotion we decided to get out of the tub and in the bed (since I gave birth standing the blood and membrane flowed easily to the water and it was not very clear. I've seen births that leave water almost as clear as the beginning until the mother stands up...). On the bed Annie and I looked in each other's eyes curiously and for a long time as if we were talking about our little accomplishment. She was wide-awake, watching everything around her...saying hello to Daddy, too excited to latch on... I had to  push once more for the placenta... what an incredible thing.. I wanted to touch it... Michele showed me the part facing the baby and the sac... it is so smooth and almost purple..
Now Annie is ready to eat... she's a Pro... in no time she's gulping away holding mommy's breast with her little hands.

I got a couple of tears but considering Annie's size I'm not surprised... Anyhow I prefer to have a tear that was needed than and unneeded episiotomy.
I was stitched, took a shower while Michele and Yves cleaned up and Annie slept peacefully and by 5:30 we were heading home.

At Home Patrick was waiting eagerly to meet his sister (he was having a nap) . When he woke up he was curious to see something moving in the little basket next to mommy's bed. He was immediately mad about his sister and wanted to hold her all the time.

I have to say that it was great to sleep on my own bed with my husband, to be able to hold my other child and generally to be at home, in peace.

Michele came to visit regularly, to do the mandatory postbirth check-ups on me and Annie. The Pediatrician came too. What a difference.
I do recommend it and I would even try a homebirth.
Patrick meets his little sister.

I would like to thank Michele Behrens our midwife, and Evelyne Moreillon, for their support and advice.
AND ESPECIALLY MY HUSBAND, YVES PIANTINO for your Love and understanding and for doing all this with me and loving it.
