...More Annie's Birth
Yves went to have lunch and when he was back about 30 min later the pain got really strong and I felt like going to the toilet but as I got there I could only hang from  the handles and grunt. Two or three contractions, really close together.. I thought I was going to loose it.
Michele was wonderful here because she helped me concentrate and listen to my body, she encouraged me and massaged my lower back and helped my husband help me in to the tub. It was immediate...! I relaxed and managed these sensations with renewed force.
Michele checked me around 12.25 and I was 7 cm dilated. She said we had about an hour or two to go.  I screamed  with each contraction but not a pain scream but an empowering one, like in karate and the vibrations gave me the impression of helping my muscles adjust to the new phase.

The tub at "Aquila"
Endorphins had done a magnificent job up till now of semi knocking me out between contractions. Only the first contraction of each new phase was scary and my body helped. Yves was wonderful I would hold on to him during contractions and he would sprinkle my back with water and also rub my shoulders. The weightlessness in the water helped me adopt the weird positions my body asked for and I guess this was crucial.
A while later Pain was getting "bad" and I kept saying I couldn't handle it and I wanted "out".. Michele encouraged me to try something else.. she gave me some chamomile sugar drops and suggested to get out of the tub. I agreed but first she had to check how far along I was because I felt like pushing. SURPRISE Annie was there, ready to come out... just 15 min before I was only 7 cm and now we were ready to push. So we decided to stay in the tub.
1st contraction I pushed and felt the little head pushing. my husband touched the head and me to . What an encourager that was!
Annie, Michele and Mom
I pushed again with the next contraction but it didn't feel quite right... Michele asked how I felt and what position felt right... and I said  "standing up".. she agreed but told me to get on all fours first and see if it was better... The next contraction came and I pushed and the little head came out a little further this time and I told myself I didn't need another contraction so I grabbed on to the border of the tub and "jumped up" now I was standing with my feet in the water and still holding the border. I pushed once more and Annie was out. Michele and Yves caught her and gave her to me, still standing. What a joy...she's little, and big and its over and I love her and Yves my husband and Thank you Michele, Thank you Annie. THANK YOU GOD. It was the most incredible experience...My body knew how... What an amazing thing god created.
Everything makes sense.
