Logfile from Elehu.

Records Room (#323)
This is a dust-free room that is always at a constant temperature due to being built deep within the cliff. This keeps the materials within preserved longer. Right next to the door is a sturdy, worn desk suggesting it's as old as the room sits with glowbaskets on top for use by researchers who come in here looking for a solution or technique forgotten.
Shelves have been dug into the walls to store books, scrolls, and wherhides. Wooden shelves are built in the center of the room as needed. You find that the written material has been grouped in the shelves according to topics.
Set between the shelves are tables with really old, sturdy, worn chairs pushed underneath, ready for healers to use for research.
You see Basic First Aid, Waterbirths - A Study, Treating Snakebites, Healer note book, Herbal Therapy, Sudanna's Book of Lamaze, and Nerak's Cabinet Project here.

Musuko blinks.... not completely read it... but is reading it now...

Elehu says, "In short, yes, we want whatever logs you have to offer us."

Kesara strides gracefully and confidently in from the Healer Great Hall.

Hytiaf has mixed feelings about this whole thing, but the good point.. is I may actually get promoted for all the physicals I do, as opposed to wallowing in overspammed obscurity too tired to do much.

Nerak busily rushes in from the Healer Great Hall.

Alain woots for Hyti, "No kidding--you should be Craftmaster by now."

Graiham says, "What about those people who have been in the Craft some time but don't have logs? (This has nothing to do with me except that it occurred to me.) Some people don't log everything, btu have been in the Craft for... like... ever. Will there be some way to back-track to award the poitns they deserve?"

Musuko nods, and agrees with Graiham.

Nerak says, "agrees too! hehe...""

Jassay nods and lost every log she did when she changed CPU's...

Graiham cannot spell at all today.

Elehu says, "No logs, no credit, sorry. Just log from here on out or get journeymen and up to watch the RP."

Graiham blinks.

Musuko sighs.... then smiles at Nerak... Oh Nerak.... *heheeh*

Graiham says, "So... the people who can provide logs are able to get back-credit, but the people who can't (for whatever reason) don't?"

Jassay grumbles at that... It's not our fault.

Elehu nods. "That's right."

Graiham has another question.

Hytiaf says, "You're going to have to do something for people who's computers have crashed and lost their memory."

Nerak says, "hello! hehe.. thought I'd see how the appy meeting was going... different questions I see! :)"

Alain shrugs, "I would suggest posting and asking people with logs of RP with your characters to notify you."

Nerak says, "Ok, I've got one, if someone sends in a log w/your character in it... do you get credit if you didn't send it in?"

Elehu nods to Nerak. "It doesn't matter whose log it is, it just has to show your RP."

Alain peers to Nerak, "You will have to notify the staff that you want credit for the log sent in, I think."

Elehu will get to that part.

Musuko wonders if classes you just were at, not taking count?

Alain peers, "What?"

Elehu peeks at Musuko. "Hmm?"

Alain thinks Mus means, "I wonder if classes that you were at, but not taking, count."

Nerak says, "Ones that you are re-taking for the RP, not for the credit, I think she means..."

Musuko laughs... "YEAH!"

Hytiaf says, "People take a class just for RP sometimes, even if they have credit for it. IE, 3 extra people when to Alain's physical class."

(Elehu--Healer) All-Healer Skills meeting going on now in the Records Room.

Elehu says, "If you're taking a class for credit on the @progress board, it won't count as a skills point. However, if you've already filled that @progress mark, you'll get one skills point."

Saadni walks in from the Healer Great Hall.

Elehu says, "This includes senior apprentices who teach a class for the first time. That first time will count towards @progress, not skills. But any time after that adds to the skills area."

Musuko smiles... I've got a couple...

Nerak says, "Ok, here's another question... If, as a Jman now... I was where people were RP'ing... ages ago, and there was no log but I was there, could I give them credit from my memory of the event?"

Gabriel erupts in from ::between::! her hide sparkling green.

Elehu shakes her head at Nerak. "Only if you can get a log from one of those people RPing."

Jathen walks briskly in from the Healer Great Hall.

Elehu says, "Any other questions so far?"

Alain hms, "Question...what about an informal setting? For instance, if I was talking to a junior apprentice, telling him or her about the properties of various herbs, but not technically giving a class, could something like that count for a point?"

Alain says, "I mean, how informal are we talking about, or does there have to be a particular structure to it?"

Elehu says, "That's Healer RP and would count towards a skills point in Herbalry."

Nerak says, "even pranks count, if there are other healers involved! :)"

Alain says, "So...if it has anything to do with healerish things, it could potentially count?"

Elehu nods to Alain. :)

Musuko smiles... KEWL!!!!!!

Nerak says, "yep."

Graiham says, "What about in instances where we wind up emitting a Jman? I have one log somewhere during the big TP where I had to emit a Jman (with staff approval). Graiham didn't technically do all the work himself, but I did."

Kylianna nods. S'all about getting in the healerish RP, in all its formal and informal forms. Heh.

Nerak says, "Yes, graham"

Alain says, "Which brings me to my next question--who is going to determine whether or not it is pertinent enough or not to count? Are we going to delegate that authority to peoples' mentors?"

Elehu says, "Journeymen and up."

Alain says, "IE, do you have to request it of your mentor in particular?--ah, so it could be anyone?"

Alain nodnods, "Answered."

Musuko laughs... man, now I don't want to be a J-man...

Graiham says, "Amen, sistah!"

Elehu says, "if a Jmen+ is at the RP or spying on the RP, they can add skills points for those RPing if they deem it worthy."

Nerak laughs! hehe... "Yeah, any jman.... sees teh appies attackingher.... argh!

Alain weeps, "Which opens all the Jmen up to flaming..." *cough*

Elehu says, "Logs should be emailed to [email protected], while links to posted logs may be sent to *hlsk."

Alain really is king of the Undead, you know...oozes morbidity. *cough* Sorry.

Nerak grins, this also opens us up to be invited to RP! hehe

Alain has another question, "Is this just one big marketting ploy to make the Healer page the biggest page out there?

Alain eyes Musuko, "Well you don't need to as I'll make Jman before you will." *wink*

Alain snerks, "Well, you -did- say you don't -want- to make Jman." *sticks his tongue out*

Elehu says, "Any other questions?"

Alain nods, "Uh...so...this is effective as of tonight?"

Graiham says, "For those of us with less common specialties, is there going to be some way made to get things accomplished anyway?"

Musuko shakes her head to Elehu.. btw, I said I dont' really want to, but I WANT MY OWN ROOM!!!!! So I will.

Alain oohs at Graiham's and nodndos and quotes, "Those who already have chosen specialties will maintain those specialties, though they will need 4 skills points in that area to be promoted to Sr. Journeyman. In the future, however, specialties will not be set until Healers have earned 4 skills points in their specialty area."

Elehu says, "We'll make an announcement when the skills system is officially up and running."

Elehu says, "Get what things accomplished, Graiham?"

Graiham says, "'Cause, like, I never declared my specialty, but I always knew what I wanted it to be. But the chance to RP it has never, EVER come up."

Graiham says, "And, so far as I can tell, only one person teaches the class."

Elehu nods. "Part of the skills system is to promote the initiation of RP."

Elehu says, "Which class?"

Musuko ahh.

Graiham says, "Mindhealing."

Elehu teaches it.

Kesara says, "class good, skills good, RP velly good ^_^"

Elehu says, "As does Jathen here."

Kylianna wants to teach it. Heh.

Graiham says, "Right. But it's never been offered."

Alain nods, "And Morallen will be able to."

Graiham says, "And no one ever RPs having a mental problem."

Musuko giggles. nope.

Nerak grins, well, you can NPC a patient, you know! hehe... or ask someone to do it...

The housekeeper arrives to cart Jathen off to bed.

Saadni snorts. Have you ever been to the 'Reaches? It's /infested/ with mental cases... * duck. *

Elehu nods. "Just start something up. Mindhealing RP often revolves around TPs more than just spontaneous scenes."

Graiham nods.

Alain ponders, "Will NPCing your own patient be accepted? After all, the idea is to RP with -other- people, not yourself..."

Musuko agrees with Saadni.

Nerak was in a situation recently where someone really could have used a mindhealer...

Elehu says, "You could always ask someone else to NPC a patient."

Alain says, "So NPCing your own pt is not acceptable?"

Alain sorries for repeating, but wants to be clear.

Kylianna nods. And we're hoping that with this system in place, people will be encouraged to RP and teach more, so the opportunities to work with specialties like mindhealing will open up.

Elehu says, "If it involves people aside from the NPC, sure, it's still RP after all."

Saadni is /always/ in a situation like that, Nerak. Lesigh. But, y'know, everyday people going through crisises would go see a mindhealer, some times, as well. Y'know.

Alain nodndos.

Elehu nods to Saadni. :)

Nerak thinks it is also about showing off your knowledge... if you RP copy & paste from the classes, you have not absorbed it. If you put it in your own words and understand it, that is what we are looking for! (right??)

Hytiaf notes really quick that Diaryland is a quick way to get logs posted...

Graiham doesn't absorb anything from classes. That's why I save the logs.

Ellora definitely missed something.

Elehu notes: All promotions, barring that to senior apprentice, hinge on whether the staff feels that the person is OOCly and ICly ready for promotion. Fulfilling requirements does not guarantee promotion, and by the same token, promotion does not always require fulfilling every requirement, though it is usually necessary.

Elehu says, "Just for the record."

Elehu also nods to Nerak.

Alain notes that that is also on the page.

Elehu was quoting, obviously.

Nerak yeah, but if you have the log in front of you, and re-word it, or put it in your own language, use it where it is appropriate... that is what counts! I get logs out to RP too! honestly! hehe

Elehu nods.

Nerak noone can be expected to /remember/ all of this! I try, but my mind is like a seive

Elehu says, "they can ask the other RPers to log and send them the copy."

Alain reitterates that he suggests asking others for logs.

Elehu says, "Do you all understand the 'rules' of the skills system? They're listed at the bottom of 'help skills'."

Ellora says, "Yeah."

Graiham nods.

Elehu nods. "Cool." :)

Alain says, "Err..is there more?"

Elehu says, "Only if there are more questions."

Alain ponders.

Elehu peeks at the others.

Alain ahs and thinks of one! "Do you wanna go on a date some time?" *cough* J/K ^.^

Serafa reads. Okay I think I have it sorted if you are going to be a general healer then you only need to get points in the four that are there or can you get points in the other groups and have that count towards promotion?

Elehu says, "Please note, again, that skills points really are just a measuring tool, sometimes nothing more than something for curiosity's sake. You don't need skills points to be promoted to journeyman or even master. And the 4 skills points required to get to senior journeyman are a long way off for many people and easy to get, really. Four RP sessions. That's all."

Alain snerks, "Not a brown noser. She knows I'm utterly infatuated with her. "

Ellora says, "Works for me."
