"Wine." D'renn thrusts the tray of glasses under X'ner's nose, refraining from making faces at Pyrene. "Congrats, too."

K'nex wanders in from the Central Bowl.

Shandre slips over to one of the new blueriders, Kh'ryn? She thinks that's his name. Having noticed his abrupt departure from the ceremony, she wanders over to offer congratulations.

Sua steps gracefully in from the Central Bowl.

Squaln nods and follows Pyrene to a vacant seat near her. Settling down into a chair, the lad grins and grabs an empty goblet, occasionally glancing at the new riders every now and then. The goldrider is glanced at again and he peers at the skin. "I can imagine." he finally says to her. "This is a big day for them all.. they can do things now that they haven't been able to do in a long time." Grin..

Rianne sweeps confidently, with just the slightest hint of a whisper in from the Central Bowl.

Khena slips into the cavern, keeping to the shadows she moves to the well-laden foodtable to scoop up a plate full of meatrolls, then pours a good-sized mug with ale. Sitting, she take a large gulp of the bevarage, then leans back in her chair, eyes glancing around the cavern, trying to find one particular face somewhere.

S'cen strides with confidence in from the Central Bowl.

Hanabi walks in from the Central Bowl.

Squeak! Oh looky! Purty wine stuff! Glass is snatched off the tray happily, eyes sparkly. Yummy yum! And he promptly throws a grin at D'renn, since his words have gone unnoticed by Pyrene and Squaly. Sniff. Grin! "Thanks!" [X'ner]

Reiko happens to pass near D'renn just as he offers wine. Nevermind that he wasn't technically offering her. She steps neatly around X'ner, prizing a nearly-full glass from the tray. "Don't mind if I do," she says sweetly, giving D'renn a wink.

Chelle walks in from the Central Bowl.

The blond rider doesn't know what to say. Well, other than to tear one hand from it's hiding place to accept the token from the Wingsecond, and say thank you. "Um.. Inferno? You want me to be part of your wing?" Kh'ryn sounds shocked. However, he does manage to break out into a real smile. "I'... I'd be.. honoured!" And with that, the young man reaches forward to enclasp the woman into a tight hug. She has no idea how much happier she has made him. If you can't have a love life, then you'd may's well have a rewarding career.. which is what Khor and Zylph plan on doing.. with a fresh start as Inferno WINGRIDERS!

"You're very welcome, Reiko..." D'renn answers his fellow bluerider, giving up then and dumping the tray on a handy table, and taking a glass for himself. "So how does it feel to be all growed up?"

K'nex finally creeps into the caverns, and attempts to find the corner with the least people. Not something easily done in a room as crowded as this one is. Eep. Lots. Of. People. Poor Kez..Rider or not, he's not exactly fond of crowds or parties. Eep...

Hanabi has to be here, yes he does! Since he doesn't have a cold anymore. To celebrate, he waltzes around the caverns, drinking from a shot glass. He doesn't hold his liquor well, but it doesn't matter today! "Hiza! Shell!"

Kariel makes sure to tote Karette along into the caverns with him, releasing her wrath subsequently as he trusts her to go her merry way. Leather satchel is then brought to a small table near the main, baritone voice announcing, "Pear brandy and wine from my own stash... anyone's welcome to it..." And with that, he procures Brandy for himself. /This/ is the point of all this graduating. To drink. Yeah.

Catia stumbles rather when released from the hug, more out of surprise than shock. "Welcome to the wing, Kh'ryn," she tells the bluerider with another amused grin, leaning then to whisper something to him.

Sinead sends a cheerful smile towards Chelle with a slight wave as well. Then her attention is returned to the gathering. The guard finds her way to a empty seat where she has a good view of the rooms occupants.

Pyrene grins lightly. "I think that that actually came with graduation to senior weyrling, but they always get more of a kick out of this one," she says as loftily as if she hadn't been in this position a scant five turns ago. "Congratulations, Khory!" she calls out, using the new wingrider's old name. The wine must already be kicking in.

X'ner drinks from his glass all happy-like. Yaaay. Blink. Gasp?! He's growed up now? No! The Ner can't grow up! That's impossible! Sob. Blink. Yeah, ok, back to normal now. "Feels....good!" Especially when he gets to drink wine afterward.

You overhear Catia mutter, "... be ... something ... ... ... you ... ... ... ... members ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... from?" to Kh'ryn.

Loe swishes in, looking cute and adorable and ... well. Loe-esque. "This is all very interesting, I'm sure," Loe mumbles, peering back towards the entrance. "But can't we /leave/ yet?" Then a blink, and Loe huffs, scuttling Kariel-wards. Loe will try to be Loe, for a while. And not Aya-in-Loe-clothing. "Ka-a-are! Karesie!" Don't ask where that came from. "Hello-o-o!" Beam, beam. Beam. "Kare." Swoon.

Chelle finally makes her way into the caverns, still fingering her knot slightly. Sidling through the crowd, she finally finds her way through to the serving table, heaped with goodies. She opts for a mug of klah before turning to try to find a place to sit. Others are nodded at, waved at, smiled at. Hanabi, too gets a grin as she gets closer to him, "Well, well...no more cold?" she asks, noting the /non/ sniffling man.

Reiko lets a casually appraising glance sweep over D'renn. "I've been 'growed up' for quite a few Turns now," she says evenly. "But it's nice to leave weyrlinghood behind." Which is surely more what he had in mind.

Hanabi helps himself to the pear brandy, as well as bringing a few glasses over for Sinead and Chelle and Hiza. "Hey, Chelle, thanks for helping me get better." Uninvited, he hands each person a glass of pear brandy. "Congratulations!"

Rianne enters the caverns, witnessing the scene and calling out from her place at S'cen's side, her arm still entwined around his waist as she calls out merrily, "Now where is this wine I've heard so much about?" Rianne asks with a grin on her face as she walks over towards the tables.. and then immediately seem to here something about Kh'ryn and turns towards him, assmiliating the situation quickly. "Oh.. congratlations, again, Kh'ryn!" Rianne calls out softly, her eyes averted towards the table and downwards.

Cris slides into the living caverns along with the mob of people, intent on celebrating and - oh, is that wine over there? Loe, back behind her, gets a cheery glance and Cris fetches herself a glass of wine, and on slow second thought, the wheels turning in her head, she fetches a second to putter over towards Loe. "Wine, Loe. Look. Want some?"

Merra comes down from the workrooms above.

Sinead is startled as the trader hands her a glass of pear brandy. Instead of showing too much of her shock she takes the glass and nods to Hanabit. "Thank you," she says to him before taking a small sip of it.

Sua seems to arrive just in time to see a certain bluerider join the Inferno wing? The things she really misses. The brownrider heaves a sigh, heading straight towards the wine where she may get herself a glass before flopping into a seat quickly, her leathers giving off an audible wrinkling sound which is drowned out by the chittering of a ferret running out from her jacket, finding a nice perch on the woman's shoulder. And there it is, Sua with her wine and ferret and nothing else.

Squaln scans the room again and notices X'ner amongst the crowds. The lad lets out a loud whistle to the bronzer and points right at him; "Congrats, 'Ner!" is bellowed. Pouring some wine into the goblet, Squaly then leans back in his chair. "It's amazing to see them all grow as one. And graduate as one, too." he says to Pyrene.

Kh'ryn chuckles aloud at the whispered comment, nodding his head and applying the fabric symbol of his new status proudly onto his knot. "Thanks again..." Beaming smile, he then overheas the congrats from all over; like many voices washing over him. First, he waves to Pyrene and thanks her, and hten, he turns to Rianne and smiles trully to her too. "Thanks. And the same to you.." he says, his words meaning much more, and refering to more than just the graduation.

D'renn nods peaceably - it was what he'd had in mind. Though that doesn't stop him leering at Reiko. "I like it when you all grow up out of weyrlinghood," he tells her. Good thing Lis isn't around.

Shandre reaches to the abandonded tray and helps herself to a glass of wine as well. Bluerider is obviously busy elsewhere, but.. she has all the time in the world...

Chelle blinks up at Hanabi from her chair. "I /had/ some klah..." Of course, she was planning on trying to stay sane...But... "Thanks, though." she accepts the brandy and takes a sip. Hmm...it's been a while...

"Well, I'm not convinced that they've all grown," Pyrene observes, her gaze flicking briefly over X'ner. "But they seem to have reached a point where D'renn's comfortable flirting with them. Not that that takes much. But how've you been doing? You look like you've done a bit of growing yourself." She pauses to wave shamelessly at Rianne and S'cen, hoping to coax the pair over for interrogation.

X'ner whirls around a bit and peers at Squaln before grinning and zooming over, hopping into a chair beside him. "Squaln! Squaaaaaln! I saw you outside! You caaaaaaaame!" Yes, happy Ner. Ooo, and he's a full rider now. Leer. Yes, he can leer without anyone swatting him. Well..maybe. Mrowr.

Kariel raises a brow in question but opts for the more passive route, smiling a charming little grin and nodding down to her. "How are you, Loe? And congratulations, might I add... I yelled for you, but I fear it might have been lost among the crowds."

Reiko meet's D'renn's leer with an even gaze. And if Lis were around, she'd check the greenrider out, too. Equal opportunity leering, you know. "Then congratulations to you, as well," she remarks dryly.

Catia grins again at Kh'ryn, and abandons him. "I have more business...." she tells him, snagging a glass of wine from the table as she heads towards someone else on her list - someone wearing a pretty gold gown.

D'renn laughs out loud in appreciation of Reiko's response. "Congratulations again," he salutes her with his half-empty glass, and wanders off into the crowds.

D'renn goes home.

K'nex spots Sua as he's creeping aroudn the room, and is reminded that their conversation was cut off earlier by that whole graduation thing. Ahem..And she brought him something, and so the brownrider ambles over to his clutchmate. "Hey, Sua..." Psst. "Um, does the ferret bite?" So he's easily distracted..

Hiza wiggles her fingers toward Sinead and beams toward her brother, "Why, thank you." Glass is taken with an inclination of the head, and then the greenrider lets the smell drift up to her nose before frowning slightly and offering it to Elehu, "Though I shouldn't, after all." Clueless as to the approach of the Dragonhealer, is she, as well, merrily looking purty. Or something.

"I sa-aw you," Loe states, waggling for no particular reason. "And Karette. She's so cute." A slight nod, and then she squeaks, glancing at Cris. "Wine? ... I dunno. I dunno if I'm supposed to have any, yet. Aya's cranky." Not that she's ever /not/ cranky, but, y'know. "And I don't want to make her mad, or anything. Y'know. Right." Shifty-eye.

Merra hasn't quite been able to shake the feeling she ought to congratulate former fellow candidates. Upon further inspection, however, she only sees S'cen, and he's not only been long graduated, he's not actually from the Reaches. Well. Taking the opportunity for random people-watching, the resident snags a glass of wine and settles into an empty chair. So much for the intended socializing.

Squaln nudges X'ner with an elbow when he takes a seat next to him. "Seems like only yesterday you Impressed." he says to the bronzer. "Congrats! What wing did you get abducted into?" Yiisss. The herder peers at his friend's knot and beams.

Reiko watches D'renn's retreating form for a moment or two, then shrugs and takes her glass deeper into the crowds. A bit more of this wine and she might even feel like socializing.

"Hello Elehu," Catia greets the healer as she gets closer. "Enjoying all the fuss?" Her fingers slide down to her pocket once more, and she palms something small and squashable. "And you, Hiza... congratulations."

Sua tilts her head to glance at K'nex, her fingers searching into that hidden pocket of her jacket to pull out a redfruit treat for her ferret. "Bite? Nah, not Lati..." And there is that innocent grin, glancing from the animal on her shoulder to fellow brownrider. "Well, last that I 'member." A pause is taken to sip from her glass. "So everyone is a full rider now. Seems that it was jus' the other day, though, that we 'pressed." Sigh.

Kilbane arrives from deeper in the Weyr.

Serafa smiles over her glass as she watches the ebb and flow of the crowd, Not quiet up to circulating yet she watches with interest the predatory prowlings of the newly graduated riders.

Cris cheerfully sloshes the glass at Loe, attempting to look hurt for the greenrider not accepting Cris' gift right away. "But only a bit, Loe. Aya won't get too mad. Wine makes you cute!" is persuaded and Cris attempts to look pained as she hersefl takes a sip of her own wine. "Yum, Loe." Yes.

Oria blinks in from ::between::!

Squaln calls to Oria, who flies over and lands on his shoulder.

Kariel ahhhs softly, raising a brow and running his glass of brandy beneath her nose. Scent hopefully wafts to her senses as lips twist into a playful cast... "No wine, but perhaps some brandy? Surely Aya wouldn't mind..."

Khena hooks a leg over the armrest of her chair, eyes having found the one she was looking for, who seems occupied with someone else. Instead she, removes her gaze from Elehu and finds Kh'ryn in the crowds, giving him a grin over the rim of her mug before taking a deep drink from her ale. Yup, that was it. Just get good and drunk now, before having to worry about the extended duties of a wingrider.

Kh'ryn suddenly remembers something that he forgot back at the weyr, and goes off to fetch it. Dont' worry.. He'll be back in a while... Unless, of course, he becomes intoxicated along the way and can't make the flight. However, after the good news of being joined to Inferno Wing, he'll more than likely keep that flask put away for a while longer.

Kh'ryn goes home.

X'ner shakes his head, taking another drink from his wine glass as he leans back into his chair..promptly propping his feet up into an empty nearby chair. Yes, stretch the leather on his legs. Yesssss. Gwaha. o_O "Nah, seems like yesterday that I was a candidate with /you/." Aw. Lovely memories. He glances around suspiciously for a moment. "Hm..I havn't been abducted yet though.." Abducted? Aliens? Probes?

Kilbane has apparently came in at just the right time. Shouts of genuine congratulations of all kinds flow from his mouth as he heads straight over to the table strewn with oodles of good things to eat and drink.

Hanabi grins at Hiza and Sinead, who apparently spells his name with a t. Lookie, he's getting the Weyrguard drunk! He's really not a crowd person, but when he's drunk, it's all good.

K'nex is, of course, still suspicious of the ferret, but he carefully reaches out to pet it...ready to pull his finger away quickly if it comes to that. His finger. Gr. "Oh." A pause and a glance from the ferret to the brownrider, "Yup. Everyone is...and /I/ don't think it seems liek just yesterday. Well, maybe a little." He's done way too much work since then to have is seem like just yesterday.

Chelle watches Elehu approach their table, Hiza gets a raised brow as she declines the drink her brother's gotten for her. Chelle doesn't worry too much about it, though, sipping hers slowly and watching the crowd. Too many people make her nervous. "So..what'd you think about it?" she finally asks Sinead, nearly having to shout over the crowd.

Loe squeaks as she's attacked from both sides, wringing her hands and peeking back and forth. "It /does/ look kinda yummy." Squeak. "And it /does/ smell nice." Another squeak, and she keeps wringing her hands. "You're sure she won't get upset? /Really/ sure? Positive?"

Pyrene admires the leather on X'ner's legs as she curls her own beneath her chair. "Oh, I don't know. I think you've both come a long way from being candidates," she observes.

Hiza smiles widely, "Oh, 'ello Catia. Thank you." No, she's still clueless, happily dazed in her own little world. Very dazed. And sort of beamingly quiet.

Catia beams though - she's enjoying herself. "I've got something for you, if you're interested, Hiza..." she offers the younger greenrider, hand held out with a slightly crushed Inferno badge.

Sinead refuses to be drunk, she has a Weyr to guard. The traders grin is returned as she takes another /small/ sip of the pear brandy.

Reiko and her wine make it over to the food table. Emerald gaze flickers about the caverns now at the crowd around her, perhaps seeking out a familiar face? It might be difficult to tell. She helps herself to a savory pastry and finishes off her wine... quickly snagging another glass from a passing tray.

Cris attempts to look very persuasive, sloshing Loe's proffered glass the slightest to show how lovely this wine is. "Yes, she'll love you because you had wine, Loe. Wine is very good, see." is declared firmly as she takes second sip from her own glass. "Wine, wine, wine. Loe, you want this lovely wine, I can tell."

Squaln waves to Kilbane as he enters and looks at X'ner again, still glancing at his knot from time to time. "Yeah, that's true. We were such popular candidates." Evil smirk. Too popular for their own good, so it seemed. "I suppose I can give Hiza a kiss now that she's all grown up and graduated..." Blue optics trail over to the lady greenrider; where did /that/ comment come from? Ahem. He didn't say that /too/ loudly.. hopefully. Ahem again. Pyrene is nodded at; "Yeah, I hope to make it to senior apprentice someday. That's my current goal." Blush. Hiza.

Kariel mms, shrugging slightly with a laugh. "Mmm... sure. Why not?" What's it gonna hurt, aye? "You can even drink out o9f my special goblet. Here." And with that, he passes his glass to Loe: a bit larger than average glass, clear on top, fading to dark violet stem and rimmed in gold plating. "Things taste better in it."

Merra continues to watch the various little dramas, enjoying the chance to relax. Coincidentally, this is paired with the notable absence of her daughter. Familiar faces start distinguishing themselves, and she heaves herself upwards, meandering over to the blueriding Reiko type. "Reiko. Congratulations." This, apparently, passes for a greeting in her book.

Chelle ohhhhs at Catia and Hiza as she spies what Catia's handing over. "Congratulations Hiza!" she yells to her friend. "Good wing!" As if she'd know! She decides to shut up and sip at her brandy, the stuff going right to her brain. Is it hot in here, or is it just her?

S'cen follows Rianne through the caverns until the bluerider apparently recalls something she had to do and forgot, or... something. In any case, after making a quick excuse, she dashes out of the room, leaving poor S'cen amongst all these scary Reachians. Ack. But he did notice the wave Pyrene gave the pair of them. It's at least a start. So he approaches her, with a quick glance at the door through which Rianne exited. "Good morning. Name's S'cen, Assistant Werylingmaster from Ista Weyr." At least, he will be once the Candidates start coming in...

Sua's little ferret friend seems to find K'nex's finger interesting, that is until she finds the lock of hair covering the young woman's ear and begins to chew. "Go 'way, Lati. Stop that." Mutter. "I didn't say it was jus' yesterday... I said ju's the other day. Of course, that can mean 'bout a sevenday 'go." So she is trying to save herself, but she won't add much more to that. "Ah yes, I brought you a bale of hay back from the Hall. Brought two for myself, as well." A grin stretches on her face, soon covered by the glass of wine.

Kilbane fumbles around for a saucer -no- make that a _platter_ and waltzes around the perimeter of the table plucking foods that suit his fancy and even those that don't. He flings a head nod to Squaln while heaping the food onto his large plate swiftly. Yum.

Hiza's eyes and smile widen at the same time, greenrider accepting the badge happily, "Oh, of course! Thank /you/!" Badge is looked at for a moment and Hiza moves to hug Catia, still beaming. Not that she had any prefernce, but Inferno is good. Slightly crushed or not.

X'ner coughs slightly, nearly choking on a sip of his wine..rather, nearly making it come back up in his nose or something. Ewww. He stares at Squaln for a moment..then an evil little look comes across his face. "Oh reeeeeeeeally? Hm. Well be my guest!" A little disappointment there? Maybe. He turns in his chair, laughing, and calls across the cavern. "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiza!! Squaln has something for youuuuuuuuuu!" Cackle.

"As long as senior apprentices are entitled to talk to goldriders once in a while. And kiss their cheek if requested," Pyrene flirts casually. She's much better at that sort of thing when she doesn't mean it. Still, friends are friends. "Ahh, S'cen," she replies more formally. "High Reaches duties to Ista and best wishes for your upcoming clutch, and may I ask what you're doing disturbing our young riders before they're even graduated?" She smiles sunnily.

Loe squeaks again, and keeps peeking back and forth and staring down at the Kare-gift. "Well... I /guess/ I can have a little bit. I guess." A sage nod, and she beams at Cris, wiggling a finger for no particular reason. "I'll have some brandy, now, since I've already got it, and then I promise I'll have some wine with you later, okay? Is that okay?" Blinkblink. "M'kay?"

Reiko blinks as she hears her name, turning to let a casually appraising glance drift over a face and figure she's not seen in some time, a twisted halfsmile curling the corners of her lips. "Merra. Thank you." And the greeting is returned in kind. "Where've you been hiding?" Of course, as observant as Reiko isn't, the answer could be that Merra never left at all.

It seems to be Catia's day for hugs... Hugging Hiza back with more aplomb than she managed for Kh'ryn, she beams at the new Inferno rider. "Welcome! And congratulations again....." And with a general grin, Catia steps off into the crowd.

Catia goes home.

Serafa finishes off her glass and makes her way through the throng to the table of food, picking at things randomly, her face assumes a polite expression as she considers the crowd. Not wanting to disturb Chelle she looks about for someone else to pick on.

K'nex pulls his finger away, and just decides to keep it overe /here/ as he remarks "Oh." to Sua again. "Sorry, I...must've mis-heard you. Loud in here." Yes, blame it on the crowd. But this all is ignored whne Kez begins ot beam, "Aw. That's so nice and thoughtful of you...Maybe I'll have to get some more and build myself a table a chairs since mine seem to be perminantly gone..." Not that he's really /looked/ for them.

Sinead just manages to catch Catia handing Hiza an Inferno badge. Ead smiles and yells out an audible, "Congratulations Hiza!" towards the rider.

Squaln is tempted to /thwap/ X'ner until he bruises. He was just about the sip his wine when the bronzer bellows out the call to Hiza. The redness in his cheeks intensifies /drastically/; could it be that someone has made him feel all squishy inside? Shards no. Pause. Well.. maybe a little.. The Herder's pulse quickens a little and he tries to sip his wine again. Is his hand /shaking/?

Elehu laughs softly as Hiza is invited, if it really is an invitation and not a command, into the Inferno wing. "Congratulations, Hi'," she murmurs quietly, taking the glass of wine that had been held out for her. "I've heard it's a good wing." Indeed. She backs off a step then as others congratulate the wey... the rider, and glances slowly around the caverns.

Cris blinks for moments before Loe get a cheery grin. "Okay. I'll drink your wine for you and you can have more later, kay?" is provided as Cris absently wanders off in another direction, sipping at wine. Loe's glass, after it's eyes thoroughly, is set down on a nearby table to be retrieved later, when Cris' own runs out. Lounge. Watch fellow clutchsibs enjoy the freedoms of riderhood. This is the life.

Merra smile faintly, well-aware that there's not much of figure, no matter how long it's been. "Oh, here and there. Spent some time back at Southern Hold, and then settled at Ista Weyr for a while," she answers lightly, merrily -not- offering an explanation for returning. "And how are you and... er... Cerdith doing?"

"Thank you," S'cen replies to Pyrene, just as formally. He can't help but chuckle at her question, though. "It's more of a case of your young rider disturbing the older ones." Of course, 'young' is used relatively; Rianne is actually slightly older than S'cen. "Mari and me... we go back a long way." Wink. "And with all due respect, we /did/ wait until after she'd graduated." Granted it was /right/ after she graduated, but still...

"She looked upset beforehand," Pyrene points out breezily. But she offers him a glass of wine, to take away any sting in her words. "As long as we don't end up with another Mitria/S'ret scenario, I suppose we can permit your... association," she allows with mock magnanimity.

Sua blinks quietly, keeping her innocent little expression on her face. "Permanantly gone? Oh, 'm sure you can find that bales of hay make a better set of furniture than anything else." She shrugs back a shoulder and slumps in her chair, staring into the empty glass of wine, as if attempting to get it filled up once again. "'Nyways, I thought I would bring one for you, since I couldn't get 'Seth to carry 'ny more. He almost refused to carry Lati, actually.." Wait until she finds her other two, if that is possible.

Kilbane dodges a few flailing arms and the occasionally strewn chair before taking a seat nearby Sqal. Shards! He forgot a drink! Squeeze. Push. Finally, he decides upon one of the white wines and ducks/weaves through the tangles of bodies and their appendages. Sit. "Hey Squaln. How're you?"

Hiza hums merrily as she gazes at her badge-she'll no doubt affix it later when she's not wearing a dress. And eyes go to her name being called. "Does he now?" Gaze travels to the blushing Squaln, and head inclines, "Well I'm right over here." Lightly teasing is infinatly different from flirting. And a smile goes to Elehu, "I suppose I'll be right back." Yes, even though she's right over here, she's going over there. It's just her nature. Wooo. Smile-smile at the Squa.

Sasha slips silently in from the Central Bowl.

Khena drains her mug of ale, heaving herself out of the chair to get a refill, pausing at the sideboard, considering whether or not she could bring the pitcher back with her to her own table near the back of the cavern. Glancing around, she spots Elehu again, and gives the Healer a broad smile, lifting her left shoulder slightly to show off her new knot. No shame in being proud of finally graduating, is there?

X'ner turns his head a bit, still grinning devilishly at Squaln. Flutter. "Now I'm doing you a /favor/ Squaly. And you're the one that talked about it first, so you've gotta go through with it. And if you don't kiss her, then you have to kiss..../me/." Bwahaha.. And don't think that the bronzer won't do it.

Sasha blinks as she walks in.."There's kissing going on and nobody told me ? For shame!"

Chelle turns slightly to see if she can see anyone else that she'd invited to the party, and nearly misses seeing Serafa. She does, though, and waves her over towards them, "Come on over here!" she calls. Now if only Serafa's heard her! Brandy is sipped and sipped and the glass is finally emptied. After setting the glass on the table, she begins to watch people, one of her favorite things to do, eyes sparkling from the laughter, the excitement, and the drink.

Reiko's smile warms by several degrees as Merra correctly identifies her lifemate. "We're quite well, thank you," she replies evenly. "Settled into a cozy little cave above the lake." The second glass is emptied and just as quickly replaced by an efficient drudge. Now Reiko hasn't been paying attention to most of the conversations around her, but Sasha's announcement as she enters could hardly be missed. Even by Reiko. And the greenrider is eyed accordingly, emerald gaze frankly appreciative.

Kariel chuckles at Loe, nodding in silent encouragement as he produces a new glass of brandy from the table for his own use. "The thing I like about the brandy is that it's fruity in the mouth... and leaves this smooth, soft burn on the way down... and you /have/ to sip it. Or else it hurts." Warning.

K'nex was convinced a long time ago that his furnature hated him and ran away from home. Sniffle. Which might be why he's barely tried to find it. Or it could be that he's just lazy. Too bad. "Mmm. Yes, we'll see. I always liked them..." Kez doesn't even look /vaugely/ surprised that her brown refused to carry anymore. It's evil, after all. "Did he try to eat her?" The ferret, of course...

Serafa hears Chelles call and wanders over, looking at her friend she smirks and asks "Whatcha drinking?" The brightness of her eyes surely cant be from excitement alone

Shandre wanders about and catches snatches of conversations here and there. New riders, seasoned riders.. and weyr residents.. they all have a place here.. It's fascinating to note and listen..

Living Caverns (#392)
The rough-hewn majesty of this cavern far outpaces any delight in the multitudes of curves that form its enclosure. The glabrous grey granite is shot through with translucent obsidian, lending subtly-veined sparkle to the walls and the foot-trodden smoothness of the floor that shows centuries-old placements of the scarred trestle tables; carven hollows give homes for the glow baskets and the coat-pegs that line the walls. No mosaics, no painting, no tiles: just a few well-done tapestries mark the pathway that lead to the kitchen to the north and the inner caverns to the west, and frame the nighthearth's stew and snacks, while a heavier strip of oiled canvas shields the unwary from the wind in the bowl.
Scattered about in various perches and niches are forty-five firelizards.
You see OOC NOTICE (look sign), White Clay Egg Pot, and Sasha's Body Tangle Dice here.
Pyrene, Squaln, X'ner, Serafa, Sinead, Reiko, Khena, Hiza, Shandre, Kariel, Cris, Loe, K'nex, Sua, S'cen, Hanabi, Chelle, Merra, Kilbane, and Sasha are here.
Obvious exits:
Bowl -- Kitchens -- Inner Caverns -- Crafting Area

Squaln doesn't look at Kilbane when he answers, but right at /her/. Wha.. is she a sight. "I'm.. good.." he finally says to Bane. Then the authentic SqualySmirk shows through when he sees Hiza; X'ner is given a pat on the shoulder as he stands. Setting his goblet down, he makes his way towards Hiza through the crowds. When he finally gets to her, Squaly checks out her new knot. "Hey Hiza, congrats!" Be normal, Squaln.. "I didn't get you a graduation present, but, I can make up for it with something else.." Hopefully she doesn't think he's too much of a deadglow at this point..

Merra smirks, unable to resist her own version of teasing. "You know, if you asked nicely, I'm sure Sasha would add to the kissing around here," the woman points out in perfect innocence. Never mind the slight dents that her halo has collected over the Turns. "Or, at the very least... make the housewarming of your new weyr a bit warmer..." An innuendo? Of course, but not necessarily meant personally.

Elehu nods quickly to Hiza. "I'll just be around," she informs the rider quietly before moving off to circulate around the crowds, her glass of wine held rather forgotten in her hands. Now and then she'll return a greeting with one of her own until eventually she stops next to Khena, holding out one hand. "Congratulations, rider," she offers with a small grin.

Sua drops her smile into a frown, waving a hand at the ferret that attempts to bite off her ear. "Eat her? Well, after he tried to eat the canines... Yes, actually. Why wouldn't he try?" A soft grunt escapes, and she shrugs back her shoulders, attempting to straighten up in the chair at that point. "So, I'll jus' drop the bale of hay at your weyr later on..." And she might be able to find something new to take with her. "Or you want to come pick it up whenever?" Who knows. People might refuse to let her Skeseth land on their ledges.

Sasha snatches a lonely looking glass of wine that looks obviously that it needs making friends with..."Hey...I'm greenrider..I'll kiss anyone...especialluy on a great day like this! Congrats to all the new riders!"

S'cen nods to Pyrene, accepting the glass of wine. "Thank you. Aye, she was a little upset, but she's alright." And on the subject of the 'Mitria/S'ret scenario'... "And what kind of senario was that?"

X'ner blinks a bit, and quite obviously pouts. Drat! His plans didn't work. Wait a second..now he's starting to sound like Nezdarvyth! Grump. Gaze follows Squaln over to Hiza, where he simply eyes the two for a moment before turning the correct way in his chair. Pout.

"It's a graduation, Sash," Pyrene calls over. "It goes /without/ saying that there'll be kissing mixed in." And abruptly, she rises and gives the greenrider a peck on the cheek. "Here, you can have my seat and entertain S'cen as well being in a prime spot for watching Squaln kiss X'ner. I, unfortunately, have to go." This is said with the satisfied assurance of one who knows that the mood will be darker without her. S'cen gets a parting grin. "A tragic love story... perhaps we can persuade Rianne to make a ballad out of it sometime."

Hiza tilts her head slightly, shaking it, "Oh I don't need a gift or anything... but I suppose if you wanted to make up for it, that's quite alright." Eyes go briefly to Sasha with one eyebrow up, and then find Elehu and go back to Squaln, soft smile invading her features as if it weren't there already.

Pyrene goes home.

Reiko arches a brow at Merra. "I've found my weyr to be quite warm," she says mildly, without bothering to elaborate. And the third glass is drained. Emerald gaze flickers about the cavern, now searching for the drudges that were so handy before, long fingers tapping irritably on her glass. Sasha is eyed again for her 'offer', but Reiko doesn't volunteer herself. Yet, anyway.

Chelle pats an empty chair, one of the /last/ empty chairs around, and gestures Serafa into it, "Brandy..but my glass is empty now." she bemoans the fact. "Interesting party, huh?" she says, just for something /to/ say. "If it weren't for the Istan Gather, we could have gotten some harpers to play..then we could have a gather of our own. That would have been fun." Or maybe... "I guess we could go over /there/..." After all, they're riders now and can do what they want, right? Or nearly so...

"Thanks, Ele," Khena notes, taking the Healer's hand in both hers, having set her mug down. Looking directly into the other's eyes, she smiles broadly. Daring a move, she leans toward Elehu, giving her a light kiss on the cheek, then pulls back to observe the other's reaction, her eyes showing only a slight amount of concern.

Cris gives her empty wine glass the evil eye, attempting to get it to fill up again without her having to go retrieve a second. In the process, the bluerider manages to wind her way about the caverns, scooting up to someone's forgotten glass. "This one looks full. Thanks, whoever is so nice to lend it to me." And with that, and a secretive glance around, Cris creeps off.

Squaln clicks his tongue ring against his teeth before answering Hiza. Kilbane is glanced at briefly, then he gazes at the rider with eager blue optics. "Have to give you something, it's graduation day after all." he replies. Leaning in, he gives Hiza a long awaited kiss. Wha.. it's been a long time coming..

K'nex's dragon wouldn't've tried to eat any of his pets, if he had had any, but then Shira isn't Seth. And thank Faranth! "Um, nevermind..Silly question." Sigh. The brownrider begins to get visibly twitchy as the crowd gets to him. Eef. "Um, you can drop it off if you want? Or I'll pick it up...Whatever's easier for you...There's enough room for three dragons on my ledge." Yes, he said three.

Sasha grins at the ex weylings and taking a slurp of her wine she heads on over to where they are and plants a big smackeroonie on Reiko's cheek. "Congrats!" Giggling slightly she turns and in one smooth movement does the same to Khena "Well done!" Now ...who's next?"

Sinead somehow manages to still have a nearly full glass of hte brandy, and, surprisingly enough, isn't drunk enough to prevent her from doing her job as a guard. Ead remains seated in her little corner of the room, keeping an eye on the festivities, and idly watching hte festivities.

Serafa nods and try's to keep up with Chelles words, her face drooping slightly as she learns that there are no harpers, which means more than like no dancing. "Um I'm quite happy here but if you want to go...?"

Anrui blinks in from ::between::!

Merra isn't asking, so it's all well on both sides. "I wish the same could be said of my little room, but someone isn't cooperating." She turns dark red, wide eyes showing her own surprise at admitting her attraction to this mysterious person. "Of course, he's not at the Weyr, so..." It really doesn't make a difference. "I should go check on my daughter. Nice seeing you again. And you, too, Sasha." She thinks. Mer only swings in one direction, mind you. With a general smile to all and sundry, she heads off.

Merra goes home.

Chelle shrugs at Serafa, "Lots of crowds wherever we go, but at least there we'll have music?" she questions, "Let's go and see what trouble we can get into." Trouble? Chelle? Yeah, right! "Anybody else?" she asks at large before starting to thread her way towards the door. "We'll just make the two parties into /one/ party!"

Chelle exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Serafa exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Elehu blinks slowly at Khena as the rider steps back, but before she can really react Sasha steps in to give both Reiko and Khena welcoming kisses. She smiles slightly and nods to the green rider, and just generally backs off a step or two and sips at her wine, remarkably quiet today despite how much she loves to talk.

Hiza is startled into response, and then pulls away, blinking, "Umm.. that is... I... thank you?" A small smile, "I mean... a kiss is a very good.." Eyes go quickly to Elehu and she pauses. Hiza blinks once, she blinks twice, and she just sort of stares at Khena and Elehu. And her mouth is still open in the shock of getting a kiss from Squaln. It's a good thing Hiza's not big on fainting, or she just would have. Squeak.

Nah, no tragic love story here. However with Pyrene and Rianne gone, S'cen really doesn't know anyone here. He recognizes one of his old fellow candidates, Merra, just in time to see her leave. So he discreetly makes his way to the exit, gratefully departing from the crowded room.

S'cen exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Reiko smirks a little as she's abruptly smooched, watching with thinly veiled amusement as Sasha continues across the caverns to treat Khena to a similar gesture. That should go over well, considering the brownrider's current company. A thin brow disappears completely behind Reiko's thick fringe of bangs as she fully registers company and situation, and then she shrugs and finds some more wine.

Sinead exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Sua nods slowly, her eyes not really focused on the other brownrider, but more on the crowd around the caverns. She's curious, after all. "Ah, then I'll drop it off later. I guess it'll be easier than having you make the trip to our weyr." Who would even dare to do that, after all? Well, there was a few people who actually did awhile ago. She is trying to figure out what gossip might be going on around her.

Grump. Grump grump grump. X'ner sinks into his chair slowly, though not able to go very far due to his leathers. Hey, they're good for posture, at least. Right? But the bronzie looks a little dark around the eyes, before he hops out of his chair grumpily and whirls around, marching over to Squa and Hiza. Hey, if she didn't faint at that, how about this? Because the bronzie comes up alongside Squa, tilts his head...and promptly lays a little smooch on his cheek. Flutter. Aw. Cute? Maybe. But he's away again, promptly exiting the caverns with the lovely sound of squeaky leather.

X'ner goes home.

K'nex nods his head a few tiems at Sua, "Right. Well..you do that then." It's definatly true that her weyr isn't the place to be...and now that the crow is gettign to the poor rider, Kez's weyr is the palce to be..for him. And so with a quick wave to Sua and the other ex-weyrlings in the room Kex slinks out of the party, not likely to return until it's over. See-ya!

K'nex exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Cris manages to haphazardly, in her trip around the living caverns, end up near K'nex and Sua. "Hiya. We're riders now, guys!" is squeaks gleefully from the blulet as she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, before she quickly exits after K'nex, watching him leave. "Kezzy, no, wait! You have to take me back to my weyr!"

Cris exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Squaln wonders if it was his looks, or, his charm that shocked her so much? Either or, the lad nods and is rather pleased with himself. "If you need another one, or anything else.. just give me a wink." And he means that; she can wink at any given time while he resides at High Reaches. Pause. And if X'ner had stayed around a little longer, he would've gotten a swift thwap on the side of the head..

Hanabi has been watching Hiza getting assigned and congratulated and badged and in her little.. er... Weyrwarming 101 private moment with Squaln. He finally manages to squeak a congratulations before retreating away to Chelle. "Hi." Eep.

Hanabi just realizes that it's only a person who looks like Chelle, and that's only when she's turned sideways. Eeep.

Sua watches a brownrider and a bluerider head out of the caverns and leaves her alone with a ferret and an empty glass of wine. She sighs quite audibly, slumping back once again and watching the crowd from where she sits. As if she had anything better to do, after all.\

Khena's moment is all but destroyed by Sasha intrusion, her eyes going from one to the other, finally landing on Elehu again, giving her a crooked grin. "Well..." she mutters, reaching for her mug o' ale to calm her nerves. Shards. Why did that greenrider have to come interrupt right at this moment anyway?! Another evil look is shot Sasha-ward before the brownrider closes the distance between her and Elehu again. "She's just... Happy? I guess," she says, by way of explaining that she has absolutely nothing to do with the greenrider.

Shandre goes home.

Hanabi waves timidly to the Girl That Is Not Chelle, and ducks away. Squaln and his tongue ring makes him nervous.

Hanabi exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Sasha slurps a little more wine and sweeps onward to find another ex weyrling "Sua! Well done! Great to see that you made it through!" Smack! Another friendly kiss...Sash is nothing if not affectionate today...must be the wine...

Elehu is by now beginning to look quite discomposed, flustered even. Perhaps she should have gone for something stronger than a glass of wine. Or maybe it's the crowds of people swarming about. "No... of course not," the Healer replies weakly to Khena. At any rate she begins to take a few more steps back from the main clusters, eyes searching about vainly for something. Anything. And at last she spots one of her mentees in the corner, chattering away quite nicely with a Baker apprentice. "You needed me in the infirmary did you say?" the journeyman babbles almost incoherently. "I can do that." Then she heads towards the inner caverns leaving a slightly bewildered appie behind her.

Donner> Hiza blinks out of her shock, eyes slowly moving back to Squaln's face. And her smile returns, somewhat, with, "I'll remember that, Sqa." And slowly she starts to move, saying, "I'll see you around, alright?" And then, a little too jovially, "Are we going to get some music going?" But she's moving toward the Elehu and, by default, the Khena. Lightly, when she gets there, "And how are you both? And Mneoth, of course." She's smiling happily-as usual, head lilting a bit toward Khena. And Elehu leaves, but it would be uncommonly rude to just leave Khena and follow the healer. So she does, eyes unremaining Off the other people in the caverns.

Donner> Hiza steps into the shadows that lead back into the Weyr.

Donner> Squaln walks out.

Donner> Reiko completely misses the fact that Elehu has left. It might be her usual oblivious nature... or it could be the fact that she's lost track of how many glasses of wine she's consumed by now. And even though she hardly notices the crowd anymore, she doesn't really see any reason to stay. Maybe it /would/ be best to leave ... before she can't. Her steps are mostly steady, though, as she slips out of the caverns to the sanctuary of her lifemate.

Donner> Reiko exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Donner> Sua frowns towards the disappearing crowd, getting up from the chair and placing the empty glass of hers down at a random table. She takes a last look over her shoulder before slowly shuffling out to the bowl, returning to the waiting brown lifemate of hers in order to head back to her weyr. She needs the nap, after all.

Donner> Sua exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Donner> Khena stares after Elehu and Hiza as the one follows the other, then drains her mug in a huge gulp, turning on a heel to stalk out the cavern, her shoulders haunched in a angry/disappointed pose.

Donner> Khena exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

Donner> Sasha gleams with delight! Another victim! A huge kiss is smakerooned onto Cris's cheek. "Congratulations!"

Donner> Cris was only just into the 'caverns to retrieve that wine that she left when Sasha came up. "Sasha!" is squeaked gleefully as she recieves a kish from the greenrider. A cutesie hug of her own is given in return before she detaches, heading towards her wine glass.

Donner> Sasha wonders where the other weylings have gone and grasing wine in hand wanders back out to the bowl.

Donner> Sasha exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.

[And a little later on.....]

Glacier Caverns (#10464)
Glittering rainbow shades are enfused with the filtration of light from crevices in the high ceiling, refracting off the myrriad of ice cicles that are this cavern. Water drips eternally somewhere in the depths of the cave, tiny trickles of melting ice that join to meet the stream, a burbling ribbon of icy water that flows from an underground source. Slippery ice covered stones litter the small patches of dry flooring, and breath freezes upon exhalation in this forever frozen world.
To the west, you see Dianth and Issryuith.
Reflected imperfectly in the ice is Louis.
Obvious exits:
Mountainside

Hiza crawls through the opening in the icy cavern.

Hiza (#20694)
Not even reaching a full five Terran feet(4'9, really), this usually cheerful woman can only be classified as short. She is more cute than pretty, with an oval face, sharp-yet-soft nose, strong chin, and thin, rosy lips. Round, fern-green eyes are expressive, framed by thick lashes and thin eyebrows. Formally pale skin is now a light tan, freckles here and there a tawny shade, no longer a stark contrast to her onxy hair. Bangs cut choppily across her forehead, reaching unevenly to her 'brows. Dark hair falls in a straight curtain almost to her petite shoulders, framing her face, though adding a childish look to her. The greenrider is built slightly, muscles becoming athletic and well formed with the increase of activity, curves still just barely there. Though full grown, her height and build remain nearly identical to what they were at twelve, sparkle in her eyes and wide grin oft adding to this effect.
Bundled, indeed, is this rider. But in an absolutely lovely ensemble of lilac. Sleek is the leather that hugs her form just enough to be deemed revealing, as color gradiates into a darker lavender. Sleeves are looser than bodice of the jacket, tucked out at the ends to reveal the soft, white fur the item is lined with. Opening cuts diagonally across her best, kept together with darker purple buttons, or left slightly undone. When left open or when her jacket is off, smooth white-tinted-purple undershirt is revealed, almost caressing Hiza's body. Matching leather pants hug at barely-there hips and flare to the ground, revealing sturdy riding boots. A ribbon holding charms, Dusty Grey Necklace is worn with love and pride. Glittering and treasured, a thin chain hangs an Amethyst Charm about her neck.
Onyx glides with midnight, a double cord, a long tail giving rise to rank in one loop. Wingrider, it says, with a lovely green ribbon snaking and dancing through to tell of lifemate's color as well.
She is awake and looks alert.
Hiza is 21 Turns, 1 month, and 3 days old.
Hiza has no apparent threadscoring.

Elehu (#19619)
Elehu has grown into womanhood with quite a bit of success. She has curves in most of the right places, though her body is still a bit on the thin side and heartily built, a stubbornness of physicality to match the resolute bedrock of her character. Her skin glows faintly of golden bronze, the visage of a wanderer. Her rich brown, shoulder-length hair contains streaks of reddish gold, bleached by the sun, that seem to make her hazel-brown eyes shine with an inner fire. Her hands are small, but her fingers are slender and nimble, well built for her walk of life.
Snug leather pants cover Elehu's legs, neatly tucked into sturdy black boots, but the doe-brown material isn't quite so tight that it can't be rolled up from time to time. A belt of silver-touched onyx encircles her waist, and a slender dagger, about six inches in length, hangs at her right hip, with an odd sort of wherhide pouch at the left. Her loose blouse of rich emerald has been carefully and precisely tucked in, the roomy sleeves falling only a few inches past her shoulders. This combined with the small jewel like buttons down the front affords the Healer with quite a bit of freedom in movement.
A soft cord of the deepest purple winds itself around a similar cord of bright white in a single loop. Small strands of icy blue and shadowy black are intertwined intricately, a long tail of all four colors hanging from the knot, signifying that Elehu is a Healer Journeyman posted at High Reaches Weyr.
She is awake and looks alert.
Elehu is 21 Turns and 2 months old.

Elehu is huddled on the ground next to the icy stream, its ripples sending eerie reflections across her face and the walls over the cavern. She sits up a little as she senses she's no longer alone and slowly glances over her shoulder at Hiza, a small smile forming on her lips. "Hey there," she calls over softly, the sound echoing along the icy depths.

Hiza just so happened to remember that this place existed, and so she's up here, journal tucked under an arm. Surprise and then a smile color her expression in sequence, the rider moving toward Elehu softly, "Hey..."

"I'm sorry about earlier, I sort of... panicked I suppose," Elehu begins, eyes returning to stare dully at the tiny stream, hazy mists of fog reaching across the surface when the warmer air reaches it from the meadows. "Sometimes I can do just fine in a crowd, and sometimes I can't." And of course, outside circumstances didn't have a thing to do with it. Of course.

Hiza settles down lightly, shaking her head, "No, it's all right, I understand. Sometimes crowds can be a bit much." Hand goes to her lips for a moment, green eyes turning downcast briefly before she gives a shrug, "I left just shortly after you did, really. I..." eyes go upward, studing the far-off cieling, "didn't really expect Squaln to kiss me... I hope he didn't mean anything by it." Hiza's just sort of talking quietly to herself with Elehu nearby, "I wouldn't want his feelings hurt." Besides which, Hiza's never been someone's crush, so she doesn't know how to react, somewhat.

Elehu chuckles softly as she takes a couple small pebbles in her hands, studying them idly as her other arm wraps about her knees, customarily pulled to her chest. "Time will tell... it's kind of sweet in a way," she comments, flicking a pebble into the water.

Hiza's shoulder rolls up in a shrug, "I suppose so..." lips quirk a bit and then Hiza changes the subject, "Y'know, we didn't get to dance." She looks directly toward Elehu, expression a mixture of seriousness and teasing.

Elehu throws the other pebble into the stream and glances up at Hiza once more. "No... we didn't," she answers with a small, quiet smile. "I suppose they started the music after I left. I know some people escaped down to Ista though for the Hold's Gather and some fun in the sun. They always have dancing."

Hiza shakes her head, "If there was music I missed it as well..." A slight pause, "Well... t'would be nice to go dancing in Ista, but... well, aren't I supposed to stay out of between?" Rider shifts as she tucks her legs underneath her body and settling down semi-comfortably.

Elehu nods slowly as her smile turns somewhat sheepish. "Ah... right. At least one of us can remember that," she answers quietly, turning back to hug her knees close to herself. She didn't exactly show up dressed for the locale. "So you're an Inferno rider now," she adds quickly, an amused grin flitting across her face. "I'm glad... they're a good group, if a bit wild at times. Fitting for a Wildfire weyrling though," she can't help but add.

Hiza nods, raising her shoulder somewhat to look at her new knot-and-badge with a twisted smile. "Indeed. I'm glad they wanted me..." y'know, even though Hiza didn't care where she was put, "I suppose I'll have to tell Quara that I won't be able to fly Thread for awhile." A tiny wince-out from the beginning is no way to start her full ridership. "I was late, y'know... and told X'ner that I might be and he seemed alright.." After he fell on his face, anyway. "Aaaanyhow... how've you been?"

"And it's better to play it safe," Elehu replies calmly. "There are more rider duties than flying thread though, I'm sure they'll find a place for you." And as for that last question. "I'm fine," she answers a bit too briskly and after too long a pause. "Um... you know, busy and all that." Not to mention stressed and at a breaking point.

Hiza nods slowly, "That's good.. I'd hate to be useless for so long." Eyebrow quirks as Elehu answers a tad oddly, biting her lip and then smiling, not prodding if the healer doesn't want to share. "Better busy than bored, I suppose." And she just nods slowly-like again.

Elehu nods quickly and smiles. "I suppose" she echoes cheerfully enough, slowly pushing herself to her feet. "You know... it's rather cold in here." In case her purple tipped fingers and lips weren't an indication. "It's a nice day... I think I'll just... lie out in the sun or something." And yet she doesn't quite move yet. "Who needs Ista, right?"

Hiza laughs, "Not I.." Up she goes, not that she's that much further from the ground. "There are lots of good places just to stretch out and sun right here in 'Reaches." And Issryuith probably knows each and every one of them. "Shall I join you?" Twinkle.

Elehu laughs softly and nods. "I'd like that," she answers, carefully turning on the somewhat slippery ground and climbing back up to the meadows.

You leave the cave, relieved to get out of the icy cold.

Upper Alpine Meadows (#4450)
A vast alpine meadow stretches to the foot a glacier, flanked by the flat reach of a dozen more peaks; snow lurks at the higher elevations, capping the valleys in thick, endless layers of ice and new-fallen flakes. In contrast, during the spring and summer months a carpet of wildflowers spreads over a base of springy green turf, perfect for picnics and days outdoors. A small stream runs off towards the distant weyr, running cool and clear from out of the nearby blue-toned glacier.
It is a summer midmorning. The sun rises and warms the land, dispensing any lingering chill with its golden warmth. Tiny puffs of clouds begin to dot the sky.
Draped for sunning on the large volcanic rocks is Sharker.
Blue Dianth, green Issryuith, and brown Mneoth are here.
You see Kae and Auryn here.
Khena is here.
Obvious exits:
Ice Caves -- Glacier Stream

You sigh in relief, your breath no longer freezing, crawling out into the meadow.

Khena (#20839)
Eyes, grayish-green, look out from under long arched brows, darker than the shock-white blonde hair sitting on top of her head. Ragged and uneven ends cut short, bears witness that she doesn't put much interest in personal appearance. A bend in her long, narrow nose, tells of a long forgotten break, and adding to that is a two-inch scar on her right cheek, giving her a face of someone who's lived a hard life. High angular cheekbones and a strong square chin adds to the impression of masculinity, while the arched brows makes her retain some femininity in an otherwise harsh face. Shoulders and upper arms are hardened from long hours of training and work, as is thigh and -calf muscles, while hands and long fingers are callused and scarred. Along her flat abdomen is a five-inch scar, one of many on her body, but the one most predominant. Breasts are small and rounded, almost invisible when she's wearing baggy or heavy clothing, making her look all the more masculine, her height of almost six feet doing nothing to diminish that impression. Slightly tanned face and hands, from hours spent outside, complete the image of a woman easily mistaken for a man.
Scintillating in colors ranging from deep mahogany to an almost bronze gleam, the color of Khena's jacket can't be pinpointed to just one. Khaki at one cuff, klah-shaded at the other, while the collar is dyed such a dark umber it's almost black. Tufts of the fleece-lining shows at cuffs and collar, revealing its color to be moss-green, matching the jacket's browns to perfection. Thick, lithe leather clings to her legs, trousers dyed a deep sepia with a hint of mahogany, a color matching the hide of her lifemate perfectly. Stitched along the seem is a row of x's, the thread the exact same moss-green as the lining of the jacket. A color repeated in the cords tying off her knee-high black boots, which fit her lower legs and feet flawlessly.
Twisting together in a single loop around Khena's left shoulder is the two colors of High Reaches Weyr. Black and blue. Midnight's colors, which extends into a long tail, dangling from the top of the knot. Intertwined with the dark colors of the Weyr is a dazzling silver thread, adding a spark of light to the knot. Completing the knot of a High Reaches Wingrider, is a mahogany thread, indicating the color of her lifemate.
She is awake and looks alert.
Khena is 23 Turns, 6 months, and 17 days old.
Khena has no apparent threadscoring.

Hiza shivers, crawling out of the crevice into the meadow.

Mneoth (#19001)
Myrrh and mahogany fuse together across muzzle and headknobs, entwine about prominent eyeridges, and sweep all silk and sisal down the grand lengths of this broad and ponderous dragon. Lighter klah-brown erodes the sharp edges of his powerful neckridges before dissolving into the brooding layers of umber sweeping his belly and forelegs. His smooth, suave hide speckles to bronze across the rounded curves of his withers, as if momentarily blessed by the sun. Wingsails - wide and high - are cloaked in a marbling of black, gray, and fawn, to create a secretive cove of shadows and covert camouflage.
Black-dyed straps are looped twice around mahogany neckline, fitting tightly enough to prevent slipping in swift aerial moves. Though glossy black, the color blends in well with the dragon's brown hide, adding to the darker patches, matching without being imposing. Metallic buckles add flashes of reflected light to the overall image, giving the strap-design an edge of starkness, softened only by the un-dyed rider's straps used to secure the rider to the dragon when flying.
Mneoth is 1 Turn, 9 months, and 20 days old.
He is 66 feet (22m) long, with a wingspan of 110 feet (36m).
Mneoth seems to be listening.

Issryuith (#2009)
Storm-tossed jade sloops along the elegant arcs of this graceful dragonet, gliding in giddy waves of color that swirl silver to refined aqua along every slim and lissome contoured edge. Built sleight but strong, her fathoms deepen from the shimmering sterling nuzzling the inquisitive tip of her muzzle to the fey curves of her willfull, willowy tail. Each artistic neckridge is crested in sun-wrought gold, rising into filigrees of pale carrageenin that web and lighten the sea-deep green of wings whose mainsails flutter as wild and free as the life atwinkling in her jeweled gaze.
A soft, subtle teal loops once around between forth and fifth gold-kissed 'ridges, the leather smooth and worked well. Shiney silver loop allows leather to be adjusted as the green hide below continues to grow. A matching buckle joins two halves of straps, paddedd suficently as not to scrape, rub against, or otherwise abraise the hide below. The leather has been doubly reinforced around seems where leather strip meets leather strip. A pretty-if not truly the prettiest on Pern-set of straps, at least for a first try, and at least looks good around Issryuith's neck.
Issryuith is 1 Turn, 9 months, and 20 days old.
She is 43 feet (14m) long, with a wingspan of 71 feet (23m).
Issryuith seems to be listening.

Khena is sitting on the ground, leaning against her lifemate's forearm, eyes closed and a bottle in one hand. Half-snoring, she doesn't notice that people have arrived in her proximity until Mneoth gives of a rumble, his tone somewhere between satisfied and dissatisfied. "What is it, Mneoth," the brownrider mutter, her words slurring as she opens her eyes to spot Elehu and Hiza. "Oh.."

Hiza follows Elehu out, only to stop short. Issryuith is given a glance, though Hiza knows she's very asleep. A smile is pratically forced onto Hiza's face and she offers, "Hello Khena. So sorry I ran off on you back there." And she probably is too, though she offers no excuse for doing so. Elheu is lingered around, little rider looking just a -tad- too cheerful. Because she's always happy.

Elehu is still scrambling up the slope a bit, hands rubbing quickly at her bare, chilled arms. She finally looks up as she stops beside Hiza and gives Khena a surprised look. "Hello there," she offers quickly, glancing between the green rider and the brown. "Catching some sun?"

Khena nods slowly, her eyes narrow as she looks at Hiza. "Not a problem," she notes cooly, then turns to Elehu, offering the healer a genuine smile. "T'was Mneoth idea," she says, getting to her feet slowly and a bit wobbly. Never mind that Issryuith had been here too, her lifemate wouldn't leave again for some unknown reason. "He likes it here." Eyes dark from one to the other, thought obviusly churning behind the gray-green orbs.

Hiza frowns lightly, lips quirking unhappily. She shifts toward Issryuith, prodding the green hide lightly so that she wakes up, eyelids sliding open, swirling with a faint bit of orange. And dragon is leaned against, greenrider quiet as she becomes part of the backdrop.

Elehu crosses her arms slowly and eyes the two riders, first with a look of confusion, but then a growing look of consternation. She was close enough to the edge before. Fingers grip her sides tightly eyes closing for a moment as she takes a long breath. "Look... this isn't working, all right?" she says quietly, moving to stand just off center of the two riders as she continues to look at them both. "Either it's in the open or.... Well, I don't know," she ends in a mutter, still shivering slighting from the chilled caverns.

Khena grimaces at Elehu's words, slipping out of her jacket to hand it to the Healer. "You look cold," she mutters, then retreats her steps not quite sure-footed. Leaning against her lifemate for support, she looks from Elehu to Hiza and back again, her mind trying to grasp what Elehu'd been saying. "But..." she starts, but stops again, unable to find anything to add, or comment on.

Hiza doesn't bother with the pretend smile, crossing her arms, closing her eyes, and shaking her head. Issryuith's eyes whirl a bit oranger, and Hiza says, "/I'm/ not even sure if I know what's going on here." Tone is kept tightly even, though a glimmer of confusion colors the back of the words. "I would like to know, you know." So she can /do/ something about whatever it is.

Elehu takes Khena's jacket, but her hand just falls limply to her side as she sighs softly, a subtly weary and even sad look beginning to bloom. "This is all my fault," she mumbles, face tightening somewhat. "Hiza, Khena... I'm sorry, I just... I can't do this now. I can be a friend, but more than that and I just hurt people. And I'm not going to do that." She glances away, off towards the Weyr for a moment, though probably by coincidence. "I've kept on in the vain hope that we're all just friends as always, ignoring everything else... but it isn't working."

Khena glances at Hiza, her anger showing in her eyes as they narrow, looking at the greenrider. Gaze gliding back to Elehu, the look in her eyes changes to be almost hurt. "Ele..." she whispers, voice cracking before finishing saying the Healer's name. "Don't say that.. Please." As the bottle in her hand drops to the ground, it shatters making Mneoth rumble deep within his throat, his eyes whirling faster and taking on a color similar to that of the green's next to him.

Hiza doesn't open her eyes, doesn't bother with replying just yet, since her throat probably won't let her speak anyway. Bottom lip is bitten, and Hiza stands, continues to shake her head for a long, long moment. Finally, she swallows, attempts, "If that's what you want... then that's fine. Just friends... is..." but she doesn't finish, mind racing with what's /really/ going on here. Whole body turns and tucks away into her lifemate's, who curls around her, tail flicker, to obscure whatever reaction-sobs, silence-the rider has. And she's not supposed to stress. Hn.

Elehu deflates bit by bit as she watches Khena and Hiza, tears welling up in her own eyes due to a myriad of different emotions. "And instead I manage to hurt both of you," she says in a strained, dull voice, jacket falling to the ground forgotten as the Healer's hands hang lifeless at her sides. "I'm very... very sorry." Her mouth opens as if to say more, but instead she just shuts her eyes tightly, brushes at them with a hint of irritation and turns on her heel, slowly heading back down the sloping meadows with dragging feet but without a second glance.

"Ele," Khena calls out faintly, though she doesn't move from the spot next to her lifemate's side as she watches Elehu leave. Taking a few wobbly steps, the brownrider moves to retrive her jacket from where the Healer'd dropped it, her eyes still locked on her back. Fingers wringing the leather of the jacket, knuckles turning white, she stands there for a long time before turning back to Mneoth, ignoring the presense of Hiza nearby. "Let's get back home, Mneoth...."

Mneoth lends a weary forearm for Khena to climb to a stable seat between two neckridges.

Hiza slumps next to Issryuith, though she can't be seen. Green croons to her lifemate, sending a flickering hiss toward the brown and his rider for making her Hiza so sad when the Healer said she wasn't supposed to. Or is it the Healer who? Issryuith croons again, lower, confused, nudges her little rider with her snout, waiting until she's ready to move again.

Where or where did the weyr go? Perhaps it's this way, down the trail.
