1. Titles. You know how americans usually shorten the titles when dubbing a tape? Well, they got hold of CCS and decided to shorten it to CardCaptors instead of CardCaptor Sakura.
2. Starting Point. In the Japanese version of CCS, they started with episode one and continued from there. But in the CC version, they started with episode 8 and from there, they skipped around.
3. Names. They changed last names and first names and on some characters, both! In the japanese version, it's Sakura Kinomoto. In the english, its Sakura Avalon.
4. Wording. Yes, Nelvana also changed ALOT of wording in the show. They changed the chants and lines in the show!
5. Cutting. Nelvana also cut out parts of the show. A few seconds here and there and a few minutes there and here. It's crazy!
6. Relations. In the CCS version, Chiharu and Takashi are boyfriend and girlfriend. But in CC, they're cousins. And plus, they did change some other characters relationships.
7. Music. Nelvana also cut out ALL of the japanese music and replaced it with english music. The english music is okay. But not as good as the original music. ^ ^
8. Introduction. If you've seen the introduction of the english and japanese versions, you would definantly think that they were off. All Nelvana did to the introduction was add their own music, some 3D graphics, and some episode clips and blended them all together. While in CCS, they drew all of the pictures from scratch and made their own music to match.
Well, thats all I can think of now. I'll post more if I get some more ideas. |
