Sydney band weir
release their debut EP, The Risk,
on 15 August 2005. Formed in 2003 and having toured
with the likes of The Devoted Few, Speedstar and
The Forgotten Army, weir are ready to take you
away with their gorgeous soundscapes of emotional
and intense rock, beautiful melodies, and quiet
intensity.
With a refreshing
new lineup as of January 2005, the four piece have
been busy
spending the better
part of the last few months getting their live sound
down pat – a cross between early Radiohead,
Mazzy Star and the Doves - as well as putting the
finishing touches on the 4 track EP about the country.
But things are only just starting to heat up, with
a number of special live tour dates just on the horizon.
weir recently jetted over to Perth to record The
Risk EP with Dave Parkin (The Hampdens,
Halogen) at Blackbird Studios, while Dale Shearsmith
(Ramble On Studios) took care of the mixing back
in Sydney, where the illustrious William Bowden put
his name to the mastering. The result is the infectious
and uplifting The Risk EP, available
from the bands official website.
If you can’t
wait until the official release date, jump on over
