"I have
known John Craig for over twenty years. Over the
last several years I have watched his
representation of the physicians of District 3.
He has served us well as a representative on the
OMA Board and the committees of the board.
John is an honest grassroots physician who has
learned how to survive in the OMA political arena
without losing his principles. I respect his
judgment and consideration for the views of
others.
Even though I am a member of the Coalition of
Family Physicians, I still believe that the OMA
can and should represent family doctors and
specialists. John has shown that he is fair to
both groups. John is the one I want down there
representing me and all the physicians from
District 3."
Jim Kavanagh, Family Physician, Cambridge
"District
3 has been privileged to have John Craig as its
OMA Board Director for the last 4 years. He
quickly "learned the ropes" and now is
an experienced Board member to whom others often
turn for an impartial and thoughtful opinion. His
ability to grasp both sides of an argument and to
offer practical and fair solutions has served him
well in the various roles that he has assumed on
behalf of the medical profession in Ontario.
I have been able to work with John and to watch
him work. In the sometimes murky world of medical
politics you can rely on John to be clear and
sincere. He is a man of his word with no debts
owing to any special interest group but with an
inherent obligation to represent all
physicians with equal effort and determination. I
have seen him make impassioned pleas on behalf of
Family Physicians no matter what their methods of
payment. He defends and advances the needs of all
Fee for Service doctors with no less zeal than he
defends the rights of all others to choose their
payment mechanism.
Family Doctors and Specialists alike will benefit
from the ongoing efforts, insights and experience
of John Craig. He has my whole-hearted support in
the upcoming District 3 election."
Wayne Parsons, Family Physician,
Stratford
"I have
known John for many years and fully support his
work at the OMA. He is always available to take
my phone calls and has always been eager to help
with my problems and our local issues."
Dr. Eric Barker, Family Physician,
Wiarton
"I have
known John as a member of council for the past
three years and as a member of FHNTECC for the
past two years. John is certainly a hard worker
and very active in OMA affairs. Hes
knowledgeable about the problems faced by our
members and I believe is working very hard in
dealing with government to promote our interests.
He has been extremely influential as the chairman
of the Primary Care Delivery Models Committee. He
has worked hard to advance the positions of all
physicians, APP as well as fee for service docs."
Dr. Blair Fraser, Family Doctor, Guelph
"I have
worked with John over many years in various
capacities within the OMA. John is an energetic,
thoughtful and hardworking member for our
District. He has been a strong advocate for
District issues and backs up the rhetoric with
action. He is dedicated and fair-minded and not
afraid to express his own opinion even if it
differs from the corporate line.
In view of his hard work I think he deserves
re-election."
Dr. Pat Conlon, Psychiatrist, Goderich
"Dr.
John Craig of Elmira has my recommendation for
OMA Board Director from District 3. He has proven
himself to be a fair and objective representative
of all physicians in District 3 over the past
four years."
Dr. Chris Cressy, Family Doctor,
Palmerston
"I have
known John Craig for many years at council and in
our district. He is the right man for the job."
Dr. Chester Pitter, General Surgeon, Owen
