Crumbled (In Response to The Attacks on America)

~Tears~
Like a slow, simmering rain
Carve hollows deep within...
Fire...the slaughter of dreams
And of the innocents
Burn sharply in our eyes.

Splendor of America
~Crumbled~
After the sky took flame
(A horror that shook the world)
And so many of us ask
How can we go on
When our kindred
Lay brutally slain?

Our souls are sliced open-
Exposing fearful flesh
And allowing the ice of hatred
To penetrate...
But we must combat war
~With peace~
And the malice of those
Who unjustly abhor
By loving each other
More than ever before.

My words do little justice to show my feelings for those wounded and killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. I ask you all do support the US in our time of need and to strive for peace in any way possible.
