NUS Orientation Week O
Day 1
Day2
Day3 Day4 Day5
Most of you people out there must be thinking, What is this blasted fella talking about? How can he be in NUS (for those who are unable to decode the abbreviation, it means National University of Singapore) He's going to Cambridge this coming fall and there is no way he can attend two schools at a time.

Yes, you all are right. I don't belong to NUS. I partake gatecrashing schools as one of my idiosyncratic hobbies. But its rather fun, being in a totally alien environment, sometimes on your own to figuring out your way around, making friends whom you'll never make unless you're in that situation, building up confidence in yourself. And another thing, i gatecrashed because i simply had WAY TOO MUCH time in my hands. I had about two months and a half before school started. And instead of wasting time on the streets of Orchard Road and in Takashimaya, I thought " why not go to 'school'? Dad won't mind, besides, I won't get into trouble and chalk up high bills with my credit cards and with my phone."
Before I could go into any action, I had to do some research. I wanted to go somewhere where I won't be bored and preferably something other than medicine because I'll be doing that for the next many years of my life.

Oh then, I found out that Norman's going to Arts and Social Science. I heard from friends that Arts Orientation is quite fun and furthermore, i can hang out with Norman and Paul (who also crashed NUS Arts Orientation with me), whom i haven't been hanging out with for quite some time."

Okie, enough of the crap, you guys must be wondering what
on earth did I do in school?

Watch and see for yourselves, pal.
7:40am Day 1
I took my mum's BMW 7 Series and drove down to NUS. Had a little difficulty in finding the place but thanks to Paul, I found easily. We saw alot of people at the forum, the area just below the central library.

We simply walked in, paid S$5 to this girl at the table, and were assigned to an Orientation Group. (thanks to Norman's quick thinking, we ended up in the same group as him.)
<-- some briefing by some person in red but I can't tell whom. Oh well, i didn't even listen, too busy checking out the scenery. *grinz*
Lunch was rather simple. It was at Bizad canteen. Kinda reminded me of the good old days back in school (Anglo Chinese Junior College) where we had to queue up for our own food, choose between Chinese or Western, and slap the money into the Auntie's hands. And within seconds, your meal's ready.

I bumped into Daniel, Rachel and Jolene there, knowing that they'll be there, since they are studying Bizad. Somehow my instinct was absolutly correct.
This is a damn embarrassing photo of me. Okie, it isn't that bad. But its a forfeit. The game that everybody played before this was rather dumb, and i totally refused to play.

This OGL caught us Paul and Me, and dragged us to a group of people at one corner. Paul snuck off, leaving me alone... shucks.. and within seconds, before I knew it, I was on the floor, with somebody's head on my abdomen and the forfeit is even dumber than the game before. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS ABSOLUT STUPID FORFEIT?
Try to spot me.
The three jokers enjoying watching my horrible plight. The right bloke is Paul, a fellow gatecrasher, and the one on the left is Winston, my sec 3 and 4 classmate in Anglo Chinese School (Indepenedent). Let me go and check out the middle guy's name but he's an AC guy too.
Shortly after that forfeit and a couple other games, the remaining people left in the OG (the rest went for a Fresher's Induction Programme, and in order to go for it, you have to be 'formally' dressed. I thought that they meant that I had to wear a suit, but all they wanted was a collared shirt and long pants.
The rest of the hot afternoon was spent painting a Group banner. It wasn't much of a group work. Only one of the guys Steward did the drawing, painting, the fixation of the banner on the frame. And all we did was to stand around and exercise our eye-power. But none-the-less, we were proud of our simple banner, which was completed the earliest and everybody was coming up and saying  WOW!
Winston kept popping by to say hello to me, so i decided to take a photo shot with him.

Ouch! Thats not very nice of you to punch my stomach but after years of training, that didn't hurt. *hahaha*
The last photo of the day, group pose with the banner.

from the left to the right, is Paul (in the white tee), ME, Farah, Silken who is hidden behind Farrah (winston!! how come you take photo like that? haha... joking.. not your fault), then the banner, Roy, Hwa Ling, Jay, Wan Hua.
Behind in the white tee and with the Victory sign (first created by Winston Churchill) is Steward
our master artist who did it all.
