As sure as every climb begins with a single step, the first steps would often prove to be the hardest in any journey. But the journey itself could be worth it. As always these thoughts would always find their way to my consciousness whenever i would think of 'the way things were.'
The group began after a, somewhat, chaotic meeting of the whole parish choir. The meeting which unearthed long hidden distrust among fellow parishioners. The meeting resulted with me to assist the key coordinator for the noon mass and the task to find our own members, as the old members just won't be able to come to agreement.
And so began the journey of meeting up with new faces and learning new ways of teaching songs. Ever changing and never without their own challenges. As I've said, the journey was worth it all. I came to know new friends, discovered different parts of the parish which I never thought existed. Nevertheless, everything has its ups and downs.
I personally sought after the name of the group which meant, "Sing unto the Lord", as testimony to the fact that serving God is serving His church, regardless of who you are, who you're with, or how little you may think of yourself. What matters is that you serve with your heart.
