History: Season 1: Alex was first seen in a critical
condition in hospital, after attempting to take his own life by overdosing on
pills. He was Judi’s first patient when she became a qualified doctor and she
was surprised to see him under her care again. He survived, much to the
relief of his family, and soon was recovering. But Alex couldn’t remember his
the night he attempted to commit suicide or why he had did it. On Christmas
Day 2002 Jenna, his girlfriend, visited him in his hospital bed and told him
their relationship was over. Alex was devastated by this
and started to remember the night of his suicide attempt. He saw a flash of
hair like Jenna’s and he also saw a glass of wine. He later confided in Judi
of his suspicions that Jenna and Grant had teamed up to try and get rid of
him, though he had no idea why. But Alex soon discovered a
reason when he got out of hospital, he had inherited a company from his
father, but through different mistakes and paragraphs in his fathers will,
this had only been discovered recently. Alex had received a letter, but had
not read it. Alex realised that Grant must
have read it and discovered that if Alex was out of the way then he would
probably gain control of the company. Though Alex hasn’t done anything to
prove his suspicions, he is still wary of Grant. It was Judi who Alex confided
in and they grew closer after he turned up on her doorstep. They even shared
a kiss but Judi felt uncomfortable and Alex embarrassed so he left. A few weeks later Alex helped
out a teenage boy who turned out to be Nate, Judi’s nephew. They were
surprised to see each other at the hospital and Judi asked Alex out on a
date. They met up at his bar, but she ran out shortly after arriving.
